Animal Handler
Animal Handlers are an important job in the Pocket Void. Their primary responsibility is to make sure the local wildlife is properly managed. It is a job many of the young people who grow up in the Void aspire to. It has a wide variety of job paths and specializations. It is a dream job for anyone who loves animals.
Somethings that are part of the job discription.
Assisting farmers with the twice annual Unicorn migration. This means checking the Unicorns usual path and sent marking any areas deemed to dangerous. As well as making sure the Unicorns stay out of town.
Monitoring the state of different species. Making sure the populations of each species are healthy. Looking in to why a species might be declining, and comming up with salutions. This can be done by tagging and monitoring different animals.
Researching the local creatures of the different worlds, and how they might effect an extraction. One of the dangers of Extraction comes from the local wild life, a better understanding of these animals is a big advantage. Working closely with the Extrction and Artifact Collection teams ensures they have the best information possible.
Extracting endangered species. Raising new animals to be released into the wild, to help grow wild populations. Not only do these endangered species include the usual types of animals, but sometimes include more mythical creatures.
Raising domestic animals, like horses, cows, dogs, ect. This includes vetinary care. These domestic animals are usually farm animals, but vetinary care extends to pets, wild and extracted animals.
Animal control, keeping wildlife out of places where they don't belong. This could mean catching and relocating animals who got into buildings, or bug exterminations.
