Plasmoids
Plasmoids are a species of sentient slime, a single-sex organism most often found within The Astral Sea, but that have also be found on Exorsia.
There is much debate on whether Plasmoids have Souls, and therefore can be classed as a Mortal species or not. Due to their rarity, this debate is inconclusive.
First appearing during the Bronze Age, the origin of Plasmoids are mysterious, it is unknown whether they developed naturally or were created somehow. Many speculate that Plasmoids are connected to the Archdemon Zilkau, the progenitor of Oozes, and are part of some strange scheme to infiltrate humanoid society, though that might be difficult due to their strange and unsettling morphology.
Plasmoids are exceptionally rare, but they have been recorded living in sewers underneath large cites. Plasmoids could also historically be found within the space colonies of the Astral Sea, during the Age of Arcanum. Unfortunately those colonies were destroyed during The Fall of Arcanum.
Appearance
Plasmoids tend to have translucent, gelatinous bodies that come in a variety of colours.
Plasmoids are not bound to one form, and can take on many shapes, but they tend to take on a humanoid shape to mimic other sentient species.
Maturity
Plasmoids do not age, but they can be damaged and killed.
Reproduction
Like other Oozes, Plasmoids asexually through mitosis.
Plasmoids grow in side as they eats matter, shrinking in size when they expend energy. If a Plasmoid grows large enough, they will eventually split, killing the original Plasmoid and producing two new Plasmoids in its place. It is unclear if the new Plasmoids posses any memories of their former selves.
