Immensus War

The Immensus War, sometimes called the Unending War, the Demon War, or the Fiend War, is a never-ending conflict fought upon the battlefield of Eremus, the first circle of the Hells, between the Devils of the Hells and the Demons of the Abyss. The Immensus War has been waging since the early years of Creation.

It is a violent and brutal war. The Demonic horde swarm out of the Maw of the Abyss, a gaping portal that leads out of the Abyss and onto the planes of Eremus, where they are met by the Infernal legions. The Hells are the first line of defence against the infinite and destructive spawn of the Abyss, protecting the rest of the Universe from being overwhelmed by their devastation.

The Immensus War also keeps the Devils distracted, preventing them from mobilising against the rest of the Universe. It is unknown why the Devils fight the Immensus War, with theories ranging from a Divine contract, to a cunning trick by the Gods.
