Dhampir
Dhampir, sometimes called Daywalkers or Half-Vampires, are a rare species of humanoids with Vampiric traits and abilities. They are said to exist in the place between life and death, but not much is known about Dhampir as they are both uncommon and usually live in secret.
Dhampir often have minor Vampiric powers, and they usually have Vampiric fangs, enhanced senses, and the ability to climb and walk across vertical walls and ceilings. While some Dhampir need to feed on blood (or another substance) to survive, many others have been recorded fending off their Vampiric desire, and surviving off humanoid food instead. What truly separates Dhampir from Vampires is their lack of Vampiric weaknesses, particularly their aversion to sunlight.
Dhampir are usually the offspring of a Vampire and a Mortal, but they can also be created when a Vampire bites and turns a pregnant Mortal, or fails to successfully turn a person into a Vampire.
Dhampir are incredibly uncommon, and difficult to identify. If they are not living with their parents, or parading as a Vampire, Dhampir can find it relatively easily to live normal lives among other other humanoid people, but they would always be at risk of being hunted if their secret comes out. Dhampir are also rarely found among other Vampires within the Land of Shadow, as they are seen as impure, and are often attacked or killed on sight.
Appearance
Dhampir usually resemble their origin species, or that of their Mortal parent, but with Vampiric traits, such as Vampiric fangs, pale sin, clawed fingers, red eyes and long, bat-like ears.
Maturity
Dhampir seem to mature at around the same rate as their origin species.
The total lifespan of Dhampir are unknown, as the majority of them die early. Though it is speculated that they probably live longer lives than that of their origin species, but they are not immortal like Vampires.
Reproduction
Dhampir are believed to be infertile, but a few records claim that Dhampir are able to reproduce, but with great difficulty. The records also claim that the offspring of Dhampir were never Dhampir themselves.
