Structure
Daspur is the oldest country in the whole The Continent of Mydridlands . It has had times of great kingdoms, times of great Generals and Presidents. It also has had times of Great Councils. This is one such time.
The people of Daspur have a very advanced system of Technology. They have developed great science to Levitate and prolong time. Many believe this is a power that should belong to God, but Daspure has harnessed this.
Demography and Population
The Capital The Focal has immense religious and social importance. It is infact a centre for learning, study, and religion. It was established as a shrine and university 500 years ago. Prior to that, it was a religious site focusing on a natural spring. The Focus is also now the home of the High Council. The body is made up of twenty national elders. These are not voted on by the general population but appointed by the council. The twenty people come from all areas of society. Agricultural Lords, Business Elders, Representatives from the 3 Great Families of Daspur, and also military representatives. They elect one chief councillor.
Military
Daspur has never been invaded in the whole history of its ancient history. It has gone to war but has kept its heartland secure. This has given Daspur a great opportunity to build up an incredible culture.
Infrastructure
The Society of Daspur is mainly divided into 3 allied families who have a controlling hand in most of the infrastructure, natural resources, and economic trade in the nation. Most people in the country have loyalty to one of the three great families, and the most well-known symbol of the family is thier Great Homes.
The River House (above) is the home of the Great Southern Family of Daspur. It was built in 14720. It is an excellent example of the high formal architecture of that period.
The oldest of the 3 houses is the Great Western House (above). It was built in 14580 and has a more rural estate feel. It replaced one previously burnt down in 14244.
The last of the great homes of Daspur was built in 14870. While quite modest from the outside, it has an extensive underground structure. It is built just west of the Great River City of Daspur-Port-a-por. It is the centre of trade and commerce in the country, with half the nation's population. Many people say that this house is the least impressive of all the great family homes, but it is emblematic of the port city's focus on trade and not political statements made through archetecture.
There is no legislative body as such, only the Governing 12-member council.
