"Now just to prove I'm not lying about the strength of our Foamcrete—"
A hulking Khirmagne stomped around the corner, his face covered by a welding mask. When he lifts it, the only thing larger than his biceps is his toothy smile. The confident smile of a salesman mid-pitch
"I've sawed this space shuttle in half!!!"
The Khirmagne kicked his foot back, impacting the hull of a four-person shuttle. On cue, the boat snapped in twain right where the Khirmagne had finished welding.
"Now all I'm going to do is hold it together and give it two layers of Foamcrete!"
He whipped out the Foamcrete applicator, which looked akin to a fire extinguisher with a complicated nozzle. He primed the trigger, and dragged the flat nozzle across the length of the hull, applying a gunmetal grey gunk that rapidly hardened into a dark grey mass.
The camera cut to that same shuttle, with the same dark grey mass circling the entire chassis, rocketing into space. Inside, the Khirmagne sat comfortably without a suit on, enjoying a refreshing bubbly drink.
"See? Not even a gasp of oxygen can escape through the molecular seal of this Foamcrete!"
A newly repaired space shuttle flies through a testing ground in space.
Prime it. Spray it. Use it.
Foamcrete is a chemical mix that has a variety of uses and can be found in use everywhere from the cities of the hubworlds to the fringes of the colonies.
Foamcrete is delivered in a compressed liquid tank, ranging from the size of a fire extinguisher to a freight tanker. When the liquid is deployed through a foamcrete nozzle, it immediately begins to foam and harden on exposure to the air.
During this time, the foam can be guided and carved into shape, allowing it to be used for semi-permanent repair work or construction. The final composite material is durable, heat-resistant, and air-tight.
Note: The foam is extremely sticky as soon as it is sprayed from the nozzle. Avoid spraying on any organic material. Remove within a minute of application using a damp cloth.
Foamcrete is used in infrastructure maintenance by the ton, and in the home of the average citizen by the jar full.
It can do everything from fix a broken piece of pipe to shape a new storage solution for pots and pans.
Foamcrete is a necessary tool for colonists. It can be used in a pinch to help resolve countless tasks.
Quick-thinking colonists can deploy Foamcrete to set up barricades, terraform and landscape, and build infrastructure and shelter.
Certain high-end variants of Foamcrete can be applied in flat sheets to make a vacuum-tight seal.
Foamcrete is not advertised as a permanent space-worthy solution, but it is commonly used to seal the hull until a ship can make it to dock.
