Head Archivist

Cendliand‘s head archivist handles the maintenance of the central library in Dragonsfell. This library holds every published book ever produced in Cendliand. The role also extends to the extensive royal art collection and the maintenance of the fixtures and furnishing of the state rooms in the royal palaces. The archivist keeps records of what furniture is currently being used in the private residences of the Royal family, although they themselves, with their personal staff, handle its maintenance and, as a courtesy, report any damage incurred in daily use.

The current Head Archivist is Dr. Variel Catsmantle, is one of the youngest people to take on the role. King Owain Vixley appointed her directly with very little input from his council, as usually the monarch has little to do with appointments of this nature. She has along with the management of the huge team needed to manage the collection, is conducting an audit on the condition of the books in the oldest portions of the library. That has required the use of The Kings Key, as many of the books in that section are both chained to their shelves and of a magical nature. To aid her in her work, Prince Jasper Vixley has been tasked with fetching The Kings Key for her from The royal vault . When she is finished with the library, she plans on continuing her audit, focusing on the contents of the vault itself.
