Golden Pearin

Golden Pearin is a luxurious fabric semi sheer golden fabric made from the bark of the TwilightTree. Bark is harvested at mid day to produce the truest colour. It is then soaked in tannins for several days to soften the fibres. The it is beaten with wooden rods to relies the three meter long fibres. Historically only the most skilled spinners would attempt to produce the fine yarns needed to produce such fine fabric. Today however it is machine spun with shorter fibres making an inferior product that is still sold at luxury prices. (Golden Pearin made with shorter fibres has less lustre and dose not last as long.) Once the yarn has been spun it is woven in a light tabby weave to create a crisp golden fabric that holds it shape well when constructed. The yarn can be woven in a satin weave to produce Empress Pearin but due to the production costs it is rarely produced.

Traditionally it was reserves for royalty in the Hevenait Empire. They guarded the secret for year creating high demand outside of the empire. In the 9th century the secrets were stolen and other nations capable of growing TwilightTrees began producing the fabric for themselves eventually exporting it all over the world at cheaper prices under cutting the Hevenait Empire triggering a war with Lunith.

Due to it's lustrous nature and ability to hold its shape Gloden Pearin is used to make fitted garments for special occasions such as wedding dresses.
