Session 12 Report

General Summary

We pick back up after meeting Cypress and his younger brother Ryan at the Arcade. Brilliance sends a message to Ronnie outside on the ship, asking how he is doing. Ronnie responds worried, but physically ok. Little is known about Viktor. His family would be worried if they hadn't been supposedly executed by the Navy for being fish. Brilliance then tries to message Twilliam Weft, the guy Marilka racially profiled as a dwarf, who has been committing crimes around the casino. He exclaims that he is unsure what is going on or who Brilliance is AND THAT HIS MOTHER IS HERE?!?!? He says he's busy and to meet him in two days. Basically sent Brilli to voicemail. Well our Tiefling main character isn't going to take that and calls back. He says "Its me, Brilliance again." Yea, you tell him, and don't let him forget it. Brilliance tells his bitchass to hurry it up, time is money and we don't got all that cheddar. His words not mine, I swear. Twilliam responds saying to meet him in the breakroom later... and tell his... mom to leave. Yeah, whatever is making people want to stay works on everyone else, but surely telling his mom to leave will work, right? While the party waits to meet Twilliam, they head to Darts to PERFORM. Cypress happens to be there shootin' the shit after his harrowing realization about the place he has been trapped all his life. The party decides to enter the dart competition that is going on. THEY NAIL IT, receiving perhaps the highest score this casino has ever seen! Hold on, I'm getting the numbers... yep we are the only ones who have played this campaign, SO ITS A NEW RECORD!!! The party makes bank, nearly doubling their chips up to ยข26,720 big ones. That's over 100,000g in outside money! After their crazy win, they begin to head to Untold Fortunes. As they do, Cypress says he needs to check on his brother, who is hanging out in their room and that he will meet us in the break room later. The party goes and gets their fortunes told, this time, Brilliance gets his future told. "You spent your life in study and worship, but know not for whom you slave. Naivete will be your downfall, like a moth into a flame." Or something like that. Nonsense if you ask me, they should ignore that room from now on and never get a characters second, far more plot relevant, fortune. The characters then head to the break room to meet up with the guy Brilliance matched with on Sendr. And... squints at paper... and Captain Oshiro is there too. He waits outside with Toga while the others head into the Janitors closet to meet their thief. Out of a Magidrone disguise, pops a dwarf. Marilka gets away with her racism this time. The dwarf who we know as Twilliam Weft, explains what has been happening to him and how he believes his earmuffs made of Gamgee Fiber are protecting him from the effects of some strange creatures wandering around the Casino. He laments that they have no more they can use to fashion more earmuffs with. Thankfully, Cedric recalls the formula, since he worked with Klep Grogswobble, the inventor of Gamgee Fiber. The party prepares to undergo the synthetization of Gamgee Fiber. At the same time, a distressed Cypress runs into Cedric's homunculus, which guides him to the janitorial. He exclaims worriedly that Ryan has fallen very ill with something that looks quite similar to what caused his mother's death. Brilliance splits from the group to investigate while the rest discuss what needs to be done for the Gamgee Fiber. Brilliance attempts to heal Ryan and fails, discovering that it is not a disease that ails him, but a magical curse. He goes to meet the party at the Garden Tour, where they have stopped by to gather Refined Cellulose for the process. He asks Oberon about this curse, which he explains is a curse placed upon him to stop students in the past from cheating on exams. It can be removed by Greater Restoration. The party now needs to continue gathering the materials without the Magidrones noticing, AND figure out a way to cure Ryan and perhaps even Oberon. Much like a kiln getting ready to carbonize then graphitize Gamgee Fiber, things are really heating up.

Also if you want some flavor, you can also read Dear Captain Shalloon for a tidbit from Twilliam!
