Daevek Paganism
Daevek Paganism or Demonic Paganism is the religious collective of many cults and churches devoted to any number of demonic patron deities or lesser gods. Different sects and denominations worship many deities with variable rituals and rites but all center around the predominant figures of their mythology, the Seven Cardinals. These patron gods are the seven patrons of the Zhelad Daev, the realm of the daev, and represent the vices their followers covet.
There are three predominate denominations within the greater religion with many other smaller sects and cults and are as follows; the Eldek Veijol, the Church of Volkza Jahl, and Daevek Imperialism, the latter being the canon religion of the Hellion Empire.
History
The first practitioners were the followers of the cardinals, former apostles now twisted into the first daev, the first demons; each cardinal had their own faith with each their own beliefs and practices centered on values of the respective deity.
Theology and Structure
The belief structure of Daevak Paganism is centered around three core practices; worship of one or more cardinals as patron deities, offering gifts and sacrifice to gain favor, and using rituals to access or commune with their gods. These practices are seen as practical and customary as an exchange of devotion and sacrifice to gain tangible benefits. The religion is also fundamentally interwoven into the government and social hierarchy of daev kind, influencing nearly all aspects of life within the empire.
In most interpretations, there is a distinct hierarchy within the pantheon on which every deity is placed on. No matter the beliefs or doctrine, the Seven Cardinals are seen as the highest power in all of Hell and the source of all other patron figures.
