Stone Fist

All right, my young mages or as I prefer to call you: my battle mages, close-range fighters, and demolition teams. Today we’re learning Stone Fists.   As the name suggests, this spell turns your hand into solid stone, giving you both protection and the ability to hit like a wrecking hammer. Your punches become harder, heavier, and far more durable, letting you strike creatures and objects with much greater force than flesh and bone ever could.   Stone Fists is especially useful for breaking weaker materials like wood, brittle stonework, and scrap. Some junkyards even use it for demolition and a bit of fun while they crush trash. Proper demolition crews use it more seriously breaking down walls, smashing barriers, and cracking obstacles without needing heavy tools.   And for adventurers or anyone who ends up in dangerous situations, it’s a reliable way to increase your close-range damage and make your strikes count.   That said if you don’t know how to fight with your fists, or you have no idea how to demolish something safely, this spell won’t magically give you skill. It gives you power. What you do with it still depends on you.

Effect

This spell transforms your hands into living stone. While this spell is in effect, your unarmed strikes do not provoke attacks of opportunity and deal 1d6 points of lethal bludgeoning damage (1d4 if you are Small). In addition, your unarmed strikes ignore the hardness of any object with a hardness less than 8. Stone to flesh immediately dispels stone fist. Should you be the target of transmute rock to mud, this spell immediately ends and you take 4d6 points of damage.

Gestures & Ritual
Draw your mana into your focus device, then angle it toward the hand you intend to transform many casters use this spell offhand so their dominant hand stays free for other casting.   If you don’t use a focus tool, clench your fist and raise it slightly as you speak the incantation. Then push your energy down into the arm. The stone forms from your fingertips first, creeping back like a hardening shell until it covers your hand and forearm usually up to the elbow locking into a dense, protective layer ready for impact.
