Ear-Piercing Scream

All right today I’m going to teach you a spell that I swear certain excitable students already think they’ve mastered. The spell is called Ear-Piercing Scream.   This spell is exactly what it sounds like: you release a magically amplified scream sharp enough to make ears ring, cause pain, and potentially leave a target dazed or bleeding from the ears if they’re close enough and unlucky enough.   And let me be perfectly clear: do not use this in class. If you do, it will not end well for you. You will be paying for headache medicine, cleaning up the mess you caused, and writing lines until your hand feels like it’s going to fall off.   Used responsibly, however, this is an effective tool for dealing with attackers. Most people don’t think to protect their ears, and that makes them vulnerable. Still use it wisely. Use it lawfully. And do not direct it at guards or authority figures unless you want to learn what consequences sound like.

Effect

You unleash a powerful scream, inaudible to all but a single target. The target is dazed for 1 round and takes 1d6 points of sonic damage per two caster levels (maximum 5d6). A successful save negates the daze effect and halves the damage.
Components V, S
Gestures & Ritual
Take a deep breath and center your mana. Touch your throat with a focus tool or a single finger as you speak the incantation, drawing the energy into your voice.   Raise your hand as the spell peaks, then tap your throat once like striking a tuning fork and release the scream in a controlled burst.
