Elemental Gates

As told in The Creation Story, Edarlein was formed at the intersection of the Four Elemental Planes: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. However, as a consequence of this, there are places in Edarlein where it overlaps with the other planes. These places are known as “Elemental Gates”, and tend to be guarded by specially trained representatives from both Edarlien and the Elemental Planes. For example, the Elemental Gate of Water is guarded by Tritons, Undines, and the Tsunami Guard. Due to the closeness with which the Material and Elemental denizens live, the gates are hotspots for Genasi to be born. While the exact locations of the gates are closely guarded secrets, each roughly corresponds to a certain cardinal direction: Air to the West, Earth to the East, Water to the North, and Fire to the South.
