Evan's Session Report
Winter Fades
Our heroes, along with their allies, ascended Lyara’s tower as it collapsed and reconfigured itself in an attempt to keep them away from the heart. Replicas of themselves fell in their hundreds, filling up the space along with shattered bits of floor, of stair, of unrecognizable shards of ice. As they reached the top, they found Lyara working spell, a grand version of her in the ice mimicking her movements.
They battled - once again - with duplicates of themselves, Akito discovering a captive Cat-sith in the process. After the wards were down and the battle was engaged with Lyara proper, the Harlequins made their direct assault. Sword and axe crashed down from above, nimbly dodged nearly every time by the Harlequins; when the floor opened up to swallow one, another was there to assist in the recovery.
Unfortunately for Lyara, the group had brought a Petrification Cannon. Akito’s shot struck home, the combatants keeping her engaged for long enough that the petrification could sink deep. Distracted, overwhelmed, the self-styled Queen of Ice and once-Witch of the Frozen Eternity became a version of what she wished for the world: cold, unmoving, though rock instead of ice.
