Evan's Session Report
Practical Experience in Amicicide - Dysis 2
Alongside the fey creature Spring-Heeled Jack and his Wayward Children, the Harlequins set about stopping a cult from tearing open a rift to the Netherworld. Sneaking forward, they interrupted the cultists before they could sacrifice a handful of captives, the First Bowman amongst them, and dispatched the cult with both speed and panache.
Cirina charged boldly into the rift to try and seal it, quickly figured out the arcane working necessary to mend the tear, and called out for her allies as a mirror-eyed doppleganger began to pull itself from the stone. As the Harlequins rushed into liminal space to join her, a battle against the reflections began.
Between two vast, humanoid figures in an impossible, unreal space, our heroes fought themselves. Vasia, for her part, immediately murdered Mirror-Cirina, Radjic removed Mirror-Akito’s head moments after he revealed himself to be a kitsune and seemed shocked that Neesja was real, and after a few short and alternatively gleeful or horrifying moments, the battle was over, the rift sealed once again.
Cirina, Radjic and Akito remained briefly, while Vasia and Neesja returned to see to the released captives outside. Though the nature of the exact place and the figures that lay chained and living to the unreal stone remained a mystery, there was some knowledge gained: That the Heartward our heroes touched in Ponpiketes’ mountain, and the strange adventure they’ve found themselves on, are a part of the world’s mechanism to repair itself.
Meanwhile, Neesja and Vasia bartered with Spring-heeled Jack, acquiring a pair of his magical cloaks, until the others rejoined. An invitation to visit the First World embassy not far from their location was extended, but the party has more pressing business.
To return Loken to Bourrah and, possibly, diplomatize with a dragon.
