• Check out the Hall of Justice.
• Vasia keeps an eye out.
• Radjic wanders by with a drunk stranger.
• Sina Al'Torif is in. Talking to someone who isn't there. Via some device?
• Annoyed with Carinus for not sticking to the schedule. Doing something in Kurakesh.
• Cirina goes to check on the magic items.
• 200g, retailable items.

• Radjic goes to schmooze, talk to people, get faction info.

• Vasia finds some guards copulating.
• Akito spots some radial light bloom from the ground? Arcane defenses.
• Neesja notes the house is guarded, but no one patrolling.
• Dozen guards out to Saminos Lake, group of 20 to the crater, another group headed out.
• Might be spread thin.
• Vasia gives them exact numbers.
• Akito senses the leyline underneath the place heading towards Verex's prison.
• The others have concerns about the potatoes in the cellar.
• Head up to fucked up second floor.
• Find a box with some books in it. Check some books. Probably plan to blow up the mechanical room.
• Copy of book that Akito has never read, but heard of. Quasi-mythical amongst conspiracy theorists. "A Twisted and Tangled Skein" by Arkades Simon.
• Basically gods are evil, all a scheme to extract suffering, etc.
• Akito suspects there are hidden secrets to defeat and slay extraplanar creatures.
• Samir's handwriting.
• “I don’t know what your man Carinus is hoping to find with this book, but I’ve managed to get it sent here. The only copy we have, so take care of it!”
• Intercepted mail.
• Descriptions of things he'd found out in the Wastes.
• Specifically about bonebursts. Detailed drawings.
• “Lady Sina has shown herself to be a woman of great virtue and moral character. We stood ready with a healer when she grasped one of the Shards, and she was entirely unaffected by its malign presence. Truly remarkable!”
• No smoking gun.
• Straight up identification about some things..
• She also has a dagger with a bone hilt. Matches depictions of shards of destruction. Perhaps that's why she was unaffected by the bonebursts?
• Everyone groups together.
• Neesja opens the box.
• Radjic focuses on the journal, Object Reading, Glee and Terror, so focus on terror.
• Terror/respect toward thing that she knows if it wanted, it could kill her and there is nothing she could do.
• The Harbinger. Smoke. Blood. Old, old blood.
• Golden Hand
• Probably found in the Golden Dawn chapterhouse.
• Someone high up in the golden dawn talking about working with others. Their beliefs. Don't match what we know now. Prelateration.
• Skull, jagged lines.
• A translation by someone, an account of the Orcish god Verex. God of trickery and thieves.
• Note gryphon rides coming toward Arra.
• Head to Sina's office. Set it on fire, grab some blackmail material.
• Meet up at Prince Zaiid. Rider shows up injured, near dead. Has a malfunctioning scroll of some sort.
• Cirina and Radjic examine it. Ponpiketes has co-opted it somehow. Not harmful, but somehow to send us allies.
• Prince and guard vanish. Grindylows in their place. Wrapped in cloth, with writing on it.
• "Khafre had a great idea. We think they are arcanovores first and servants of Verex second. Keep them fed and they should listen!
• In a much smaller hand: “There’s an arcane engine at the bottom of the well meant for keeping Arra supplied. It should sustain them and keep functioning just fine, though they may start seeing themselves as the town’s guards.”

A Great Day for Arson - Notos 45 (3/15/25)

Once Radjic and the Prince had rejoined our heroes, Zaiid and Audria quickly bid the party farewell to see to their own side of things. The party, not wanting to waste much time, promptly headed towards Sina’s house with intent to rob. On the way, they took a quick stop by the Hall of Justice, spotting Sina working within it.

With the coast relatively clear, our heroes broke into three groups: Cirina would head back to the inn to work on identifying the small pile of magical items, Radjic would attempt to get a grasp on the pulse of Arra, while Neesja, Vasia, and Akito snuck into Sina’s house.

Cirina was able to recognize several useful (and some less useful) items, and Radjic learned that while the entire town was feeling the strange, belligerent and aggressive mood, no one could explain why. Despite few outward signs of a struggle or threat, the mood of the festival had begun to quietly, irrevocably sour as more and more fights broke out.

Radjic also eavesdropped on Sina, hearing her berating someone for actions in Kurakesh that she worried they’d learn about in Arra.

Meanwhile, the thieves broke into Sina’s house. Akito found a basement full of ‘magical’ potatoes, and they used these spuds for a distraction, locking a guard in the root cellar to suffer whatever angiospermic tortures the tubers might subject him to.

Upstairs, they crept past the wards on the floor and proceeded to quickly and efficiently steal everything they thought might be useful. In the end, they came away with several books, a locked case, and quite a few of her reports and letters. The information they found painted the outline of a conspiracy, several actions whose reasons and methods had been carefully excised but the impacts remained.

Enough to see her hanged, given time and a sympathetic ear in power. Exactly the kind of thing the party doesn’t have.

Vasia decided to leave behind a gift, sabotaging the magical heating in Sina’s house. Neesja transformed into a glider and the thieves promptly… calling it gliding is a stretch. They fell at a shallower arc than they would have, left to simple gravity.

As the party regrouped and debriefed, their chance for rest was interrupted by the sight of distant, winged figures approaching the city. Winged Knights, the royal guard of the Fian Caliphate, coming in a rush. Snatching up their newly-identified gear, they rushed towards Zaiid’s estate to find out what had happened.

On the way, the thieves broke into Sina’s private office, stole her letters, and set the office on fire.
At Zaiid’s, they spoke with the Prince briefly after the guard arrived, bearing a rune of teleportation that behaved strangely - and news that Kurakesh was being attacked by giants and stranger things besides. Radjic and Cirina were able to figure out some of the interference - namely that it was coming from Mons Pouthena somehow.

With a bright flash, Zaiid activated the rune to return home. The light faded, revealing several grindylow standing on the rooftop - the strange creatures that Vasia had befriended, bedecked in ribbon and bearing a note from Ponpiketes and Khafre.

Strange help, but at least they’re some kind of help.
