General Summary

Jamie's Notes 2025-03-08

Day 9 Notos 45, Year 352

  • Toward Arra, look like flickering lights. Similar to the mountain.
  • Looking at various shit:
  • (Magic) Neesja finds a box of medical supplies.
  • Hammock with a 10' corpse inside, curled up with a cloak over it.
  • (Magic) Small cylinder with a switch on one end. Produces flame.
  • Gray rectangle. Buttons on face, tapers to a point.
  • Decorations. Alien culture. Art is baffling.
  • Fireball blooms in the air. Burst of flames. Air combusting on contact with something.
  • Head toward a 'richer' area.
  • Find a body half-teleported into stone and a wide brimmed hat.
  • Radjic looks it over. Hat of Disguise.
  • Grid/search. Akito distracted by murals.
  • Clearly depicts the Departed gods. Attacking surface society. Coming of the gods from perspective of whoever lived here.
  • Vasia founds the source of the humanoid footprints.
  • Building with furniture pulled up toward windows.
  • Two corpses. One melted outside. One with long spike, laying on ground, strange looking armor. Armor likely from the Athetisi Kidemonas.
  • Armor is Leaf Weave
  • Investigate defended building.
  • Hear a tinny voice upstairs. "Poor little guy."
  • Sneaky folks sneak up. Seems like some kind of repeated thing? "Poor little guy. Poor little guy."
  • Neesja summoner.
  • The Memories of L4MP
  • L4MP was created in the last days of Hsir’Ar’Litath, (h-sir-ar-litath) one of three tomb-homes of the People. After the arrival of the Banelight, they were created to assist in illuminating Hsir’Ar’Litath.
  • They found themselves curious about many things: the concept of ownership was one they struggled with quite a bit, and had collected quite the horde of trinkets before the Tombdeath.
  • Life was slow for an unknown period of time - the People did not track time in the same way, noting it largely by events rather than celestial revolutions.
  • About a year ago by L4’s reckoning, the elders of the People had detected that the Banelight had fled - and then, six months ago, something had torn open on the central ward, and creatures of fire invaded the city.
  • They were saved by the arrival of another group, brightly-clad folk in striped clothing, people in armor and strange folk wearing the shadows themselves.
  • The city, however, did not survive. By the time the Rift was quieted - not closed - there were few left of the people. They decided to use less of the City, and L4’s services were no longer needed.
  • They woke up around an hour ago, and were quickly beset by the old invaders.
  • More flames around. Dropping creatures. Sharden? Part elemental, part undead.
  • Escape! Shoggoth is coming.
  • Bury the glider and the hole in the sand.
  • The riders coming toward us seem to be led by Titus Leptus. Vasia immediately runs toward him looking like she's gonna kill him. He tries to leave. The others flee.
  • Titus tells us that the Prince wants to speak with us.
  • Vasia trussed him up, Cirina stands on him.
  • Prince Zaiid does want to speak with us.
  • Leave him tied up on the back of the mount. Head into town.
  • Lot of Sina Al'Torif's guards coming toward them. Radjic to go speak with them with Yvraine.
  • Radjic realizes his hat is actually a Hat of Disagreeable Disguise
  • Lot of guards at the festival.
  • Pathfinder Society has a bigger presence.
  • Four different factions looking to openly fight against one another.
  • Cat the size of a house, northeast in the forests. Certainly not real.
  • Empty room next to Akito. Neesja books it. 1g a night.
  • Assassins in the corners that Vasia notes.
  • One: all black clothing, chest covered in knives, kusarigama. Professional lurker.
  • Two: One seated in rafters with bow. Guard duty.
  • Vasia shows us the assassin sign for 'Help'
  • Send Yvraine to speak with Remzi, we'll meet them later.
  • Head to Sayid Ala Kubaba's place.
  • Sayid sparring with a woman. Both topless.
  • Vasia assassin lore on Prince; poison, strangle while sleeping, or get above him (upward is weakest.)
  • Ransom for Titus. Emerald worth 50g.
  • Sit down with the Prince to discuss Sina.
  • Sina burned down a temple. Burned half the country of Matad.
  • He's surprised she was kept on. Wonders who her allies are.
  • She has a special sword. After they burned a temple, she came down with a flaming sword.
  • The Ender of Empires, just kills tyrants.
  • The Flame of Truth. Supposedly a gift from Sarenrae. Tends to show up when a knight shows up to defend authority, heroic tyrants, 'enlightened despot'.
  • Vasia details the various problems with their security to the head of security. She pales, gets advice. Audria.
  • Radjic talks to the Prince about cooperation. Prince has real bad judgement on people.
  • Radjic gets another gem (50g)
  • The Prince is genuinely empathetic toward Radjic and his issue with marbles.
  • He has a heavily guarded room with hundreds of marbles.
  • Need to talk to Pathfinder Society and other independents in town to arrange alliances.

Evan's Session Report

Notos 45 - Hsir’Ar’Litath and a Kindred Collector (3/8/25)

As the shoggoth’s maddening chatter and cries of ‘Tekeli-Li!’ faded into echoes, our heroes proceeded with creeping through the ancient, subterranean city. Vasia and Neesja, no new hands to organized looting, promptly proceeded to sketch out a quick grid, deciding to save any thinking about what they were pilfering until they were safely out of the ancient dead city with a nightmare wandering around it.

Amongst the ruins, however, were clearly more recent footprints in the dust. Trailing these, they eventually found a building with a wizard (obvious by the robe and hat) half-teleported into the wall, and a fortified structure nearby, additional corpses having fallen defending it.

As they searched this last building however, Vasia noticed something while standing guard at the door. Firebursts of unknown provenance had been detonating the entire time they’d been inside the city, but they were picking up in frequency - and beginning to drop strange, half-burnt creatures with them as they did. From deeper within the city, something glowed with arcane power.
Meanwhile, Neesja and the others went to investigate a strange noise, finding an automaton thoroughly destroyed on the bed, repeating overheard phrases. When Neesja touched it, however, it drew on some of her own life to begin to restore itself, clambering to its feet and falling in at Neesja’s shoulder like a bodyguard.

As the city continued to grow more active, whatever that meant, and the teapot whistle of the shoggoth grew more frenzied, the group quickly made their escape. Upon reaching the surface, however, Cirina spotted figures riding quickly towards them.

The group moved to hide the craft and the impact hole, and Vasia recognized the unmistakable figure of one Titus Leptus, and promptly charged him. He broke, the coward, and turned to run, calling all the while that he was there to help. His horse, sensing weakness and a chance to fulfill every horse’s lifelong dream of harming a human, immediately threw him.

And thus was Vasia revenged upon Titus Leptis, leaving him hog-tied in the Wastes. At least for a while, until the group found him slowly worming his way back towards Arra.

Quite a bit of conversation later - and one upset Radjic, after learning that his hat of disguise appears to be cursed - and the party dropped off their as-yet-unidentified goods in Akito’s room (and rented a new one for Neesja and Radjic to share), before going to return Titus to his boss.

They were introduced to Prince Zaiid in the process of sparring with his vizier, Audria. After wrapping up and taking them to a sitting room (it is apparently rude to discuss such matters in a training room), the party shared quite a bit of what they knew with Zaiid.

Zaiid, perhaps surprisingly, believed them entirely and was quickly won over by Radjic and the others. They also learned that Zaiid has the worst eye for employees, and Vasia insisted that Audria do any future hiring as a condition of working for the Prince.

Radjic, mustering up his courage when the conversation turned to Astaron Storm in Kurakesh, asked if the Prince would assist in locating his missing marble. The prince was beside himself with grief, both of them reduced to tears, before Radjic was taken up to see the Prince’s ‘Marble Room’.

While they committed marbles upon each other, the others spoke with Audria. By the end of the next day, they’d have hiring documentation for a fair handful of sellswords and adventurers. If they can find proof of attempted treason that would hold up with the rest of the royal family, the party could simply attempt to take her in like any other bounty.

Failing that, of course, there’s always the option of a firebomb, or a quiet murder in the dead of the night. There are options and, at least for now, time. It is noon on the Notos 45, and the Eclipse is in five days. In five days, if the Justice is not stopped, Verex and worse will be loosed upon Aurite.
