Day 8 Notos 44, Year 352

• Zombie type creatures within the tunnels. Sneak up, they seem to be approaching the pipes.
• Vasia attacks at Akito's nod.
• Zombies have larva in them.
• Investigate Pipes/Statues after zombies dead.
• Marking on it; Society 26. The style not familiar.
• Conflicting signs of aging. The rock around shows one age, the statues show less aged condition.
• First People statues (people who based down calendar/iconography). Statue, masc, patriarch/lesser divinity/something.
• Keep investigating, find cocoons.
• Thread made of Noqual. A metal the old Torvians used to detail things.
• Rumours of extraplanar things that can spin them.
• Looting old bodies..
• Corpse 1, has a symbol of an unstaring eye. 1 silver coin (strange), 10g.
• Corpse 2: silver coin (strange), 15g.
• Corpse fallen down the pit. Strange staring eye symbol, staff (well worked), gold tooth (5g).
• Keep moving, find some devils.
• Tirsathrax, speaking ; "Boss said to get big purple man. He was going to fix something."
• They killed the blue man. Appears to have been some sort of celestial.
• The centipede eats the heart of the celestial.
• Grindylow's encountered further in chanting 'Verex-That-Was'.
• Pre-Torvian deity. Went missing. The destroyer. War god. Flesh rending.
• Defeat all but one of them.
• One seems 'taken' with Vasia after a wink.
• Encounter Remzi's apprentices.
• Yvraine (eye-rain) and Khafre (caf-rah)
• Encounter a cyclops. Ponpiketes (pon-pike-etes), Last of his Name.
• Talk planar shit with Ponpiketes.

The Caves of Wonder (Derogatory) (Notos 44/Feb 1, 2025)

Our traveling companions ventured into a dark, reeking cave, the smell of rot wafting down. At the top, they slew a handful of parasite-driven corpses, before finding and promptly hacking open a pair of akata eggs before they could emerge.

Steadfastly refusing to light more than a single torch, the siblings were unfortunately quite hindered in the absolute darkness. Vasia, however, was unbothered and led the group forward. After crossing a bridge (and retrieving a spellstaff from a corpse) they encountered a trio of devils in the midst of profaning a corpse.

Bright blue and not immediately recognizable to anyone present, our heroes decided that this was None Of Their Business. After Akito snagged a silver sword, all but a foot of the blade broken off and the word ‘Empires’ inscribed on the remaining, the devils proceeded to unspeakably desecrate the corpse, using the act to return to hell.

Traveling further, they encountered screaming mushrooms and terrible little goblin-like creatures chanting the name ‘Verex-That-Was’ as they charged, at which point battle ensued. One of the creatures realized it could throw people off the edges, leading to an escalation of shoves until Vasia accidentally danced with the last surviving creature and, somehow, befriended it.

The horrible little thing showed the party to a pipe that was leaking raw, refined arcane energy. Ancient and ageless, the old pipes showed fewer signs of time’s passage than even the stone around them.

They continued on, passing through a campsite that had been quite rifled through, encountered a strange, amphibious creature that promptly decided they were more than it could handle and ran away, and eventually found another ladder.

At the top, this time, they found several crossbows on a tripwire aimed at the exit, and were promptly greeted by a deep voice coming from a nearby speaking tube. After a brief exchange, they learned that the apprentices were with whoever the voice belonged to, and they bade the group emerge.

There they found a castle carved out of stone, a monastery in a cave, and met the being who lived there. An old, tattooed cyclops, who promptly invited the party in for dinner after confirming that they were not, in fact, more people trying to kill Remzi’s apprentices.
