Day 5 Notos 41, Year 352

• Vasia and Radjic sneak into Akito's hotel room closet to rearrange his stuff and pull a prank.
• Not very stealthy at all.
• Neesja returns! Everyone is surprised.
• Cirina, meanwhile, waiting for them by the job board alone.
• Cirina notes the guards set up some new postings, but does not include the quest for Remzi's assistants. She finds that suspicious.
• Vasia shows up first, Cirina tells her, Vasia immediately heads to pick up Kevin the lizard.
• The others show up, Cirina learns about Neesja's shapeshifting.
• Catch up at Kevin, Vasia rushes off. Cirina gets mounts for people and they regroup.
• Vasia learns that the soldiers were ordered to investigate the lake.
• They say something about "it's not gonna kill itself" ??? Seems suspicious.
• Ordered by Sina Al'Torif to head out and deal with things.
• They don't hold out hope for the apprentices, do took down that notice. Spoke with Remzi that morning. Not sure we believe them.
• Rush to get out of town ourselves and pass them during the day.
• Find a spot near the Frozen Forest and make camp. Signs of tracks in the area, but bandits likely further in toward the center of the forest.
• Radjic fills Neesja in on what happened to the marble.
• During Akito/Vasia's watch, they note the snow has covered all their footprints without any snowfall. Magic forest shit.
• During Neesja/Radjic's watch they hear animal movement, then settling. Wake up others, find more footprint shenanigans.
• Akito/Vasia are able to determine some ghost stuff is happening as well as some planar shenanigans. Once that is known, Cirina is able to deduce it has something to do with the confluence of the planes happening during the eclipse.

(Jan 25, 25) Notos 41-44 A Forest, a Detour, and a Cursed Lake

As morning arrived, some members of the party started their day by playing a little prank on Akito. As this was discovered Neesja also reappeared, explaining that she was able to turn into everyday objects and had been in Radjic’s luggage the whole time.

Cirina, meanwhile, waited at the job board to meet with her associates. While waiting, she saw some guardsmen putting up new job notices - and seemed to be geared up to head out in search of Remzi’s missing apprentices themselves. The party regrouped, and Vasia promptly set off on Kevin to try and dissuade the guards.

She spoke with them briefly, the guards unconcerned with the assignment and happy to have a bonus and some paid time out of the city. Shortly after, our heroes made their way out of the city on their rented mounts and left the guards quickly behind them.

The first night, they made camp at the edges of the Frozen Forest, where disappearing tracks led to the discovery of ghosts and a strangeness to the air - a strangeness that Vasia and Akito both recognized as a thin spot between the planes, a location on the physical plane particularly close to the Netherworld.

They also learned, thanks to Cirina’s Detect Magic, that the platinum they’d been given by Sina Al'Torif had been enchanted with some minor tracking. A quick detour to Izimir later (or a quick destroying of the rune by Cirina), and the party’d divested themselves of tracking magic.

Later that morning, they arrived at the shores of Lake Saminos and quickly caught the trail of Remzi’s apprentices. They found their wagon smashed - but also carefully looted, with no signs of blood and horse tracks leading away. They also found a tremendous boulder hurtling at them from the same direction as the horse tracks.

Spotting a more concealed path up the rocky slope they followed it up until they found a ladder and ascended upwards into the darkness after Remzi’s missing apprentices. Akito, being the first up the ladder, was the first to notice the grotesque, pustule-covered figures that lurked at the top.
