Divine Magic

Divine magic is the magic that the deities possess the greatest knowledge of (and the one they typically use). This magic is available to Clerics and Paladins through the worship of and devotion to the deities. A cleric or paladin who has lost favor with their deity (or Patron Deity) loses all spellcasting and turning abilities. They must make an atonement with their deity before being able to regain their abilities. Because a paladin does not know the Atonement spell, only clerics can help fallen clerics and paladins regain favor. Druids, while possessing knowledge of the Atonement spell may not perform the ceremony for a cleric or paladin.
