Edisul Lake

Water stretches to the horizon when one looks out across Lake Edisul from the city of Findarth towards the north-east. The lake is vast and Harthella can only be discerned by the plumes of hearth smokes rising from it. Trading ports and fishing villages dot the shores, which are otherwise surrounded by sparse woodland and grazing meadows. To the south the hills separating Chanlot and Methedin can be seen marching away, whereas to the north the hills of the Tyldamin grasslands rise faintly against the horizon.

All Rivers Run To Edisul

Fed by the powerful rivers of Muthil and Haennan (which turn comes running down from Lake Annur), both full of meltwater from the Kynfesan Mountains, as well as various smaller streams, Lake Edisul collects almost all of the runoff in the region. As the lake sits between between the Tolach Naelath and the western slopes of the Kynfesan Mountains, almost all excess water eventually runs down into it. At its southernmost tip the lake opens into the Nupoñu River which runs all the way to the sea, where it ends in a large delta.
Despite being downstream of both the Muthil and the Haennan, Lake Edisul doesn't have particularly high ambient Magic levels, most likely the magic is much too diluted by the time the water reaches it. Nevertheless the lake is home to an abundance of creatures and considered an exceptionally beautiful area. Great care is taken to preserve the lake's ecosystem and beauty despite the many towns and industries that try and surround it.
Chanlot, Byrfenna and Tyldamin all have large trading port towns on the shores of the water and even Methedin has a sizeable town although they don't have the advantage of such large river mouths as the other three. Byrfenna jealously guards the Muthil river mouth from Methedin as their capital city, Harthella, is not far off at the mouth of the Haennan.
