Mikolash Brine

Historian Mikolash Brine (a.k.a. Far-Seer)

A human historian who's works have made him the foremost scholar and archaeologist in the whole of Rahvin. His influence can be felt wherever humanity has been spread, including the colonies of Farim despite their long isolation from the mainland, and he has more works under his belt than any of his other colleagues. The writer of the Histories of the Sands, the creator of the Moon Cycle Calendar, and the publisher of numerous archaeological journals spread throughout the museums and temples of Rahvin.

While some may call into question his neutrality, journalistic integrity or biases, especially the members of any faith that he seems to have slighted or been slighted by in the past, which is all of them, his influence cannot be denied. Recently, he has disappeared and there are many who believe the rumor that he attempted to sail across the ocean to find Farim and was eaten by a moonspawn in the process, but his closest correspondents still receive letters and missives from him from time to time, suggesting that something else is afoot in his long absence.

Quotes & Catchphrases

"In our hands rest the greatest miracles of the gods, those of healing, comfort and creation. Such beauty that would pour out that it would make the heavens weep. It is the greatest tragedy, then, that our hands are used too often to weave sorrow and death."

"The first breath is the sweetest suffering, the last a fading peace."

"You who were not soldiers, do not blame those who ran from battle. Unlike you, they had the courage to show up in the first place."

"Dearest Correspondents of the Court of Tiam. I am sorry to hear that you are displeased with my findings that your deity is, by all accounts, an incredibly recent ascendant of the highest order, and thus has no history behind her. However, you will find that I shall not be bullied into exploring the topic any further, nor shall I exhaust any more of my resources on a fruitless effort, nor shall I, as one of your agents recommended, "Simply Make Things Up" for the good of your order. I, -unlike certain priests who gaze into their navels so diligently that they must hold all of the secrets of the world within them,- have my integrity, and can understand when there is a lost cause. Now, if you wish to discuss any relevant and fruitful ventures, you know where to find me. However, be aware that the bouncers know when someone is wasting my time, and their temper is somehow shorter than mine."
