Jiao Kand

Jiao Kand is a sprawling city on an island on Lake Qanse Udl. The city takes up the whole island and features fortified walls around it. The city itself is build up tall. Most of the city is three-story wooden buildings. The city has ample greenery decorating the houses as well as public parks with the region's famous Roserock Trees, which gives the city a colorful white and pink hue throughout the late summer.   The only land entrance to the city is across a six-mile-long wooden bridge across the lake. The bridge itself is famous, but it's a part of daily life for many residents of Jiao Kand. It's a favorite pass time to walk down the bridge while having a long conversation or for inspiration. Hundreds of bardic songs were written here and many include references to "the walk of roses" or "the long bridge" which are common metaphors for beauty, inspiration, or personal growth.   Since it's on a lake and far from the ocean, a naval invasion would be nearly impossible. Meanwhile, the city does have plenty of ships that could help in defense. The city also has a large harbor where fishing boats harvest the plentiful resources of Lake Qanse Udl.   Jiao Kand and the surrounding region are also widely known as having the best horses for war horses and riding horses. The horses from the south are leaner and faster than the ones in the north, who tend to be larger and stronger.
