Epoch

Fly on Wings of Time.
— Written on the side of Andromech's Epoch
Epoch is the primary class of time-travelling vessels used by Chrononauts. Due to the near-infinite resources available to each Path that sponsor Chrononauts, they vary wildly in size, shape, and appearance, but are all centered around the same core. The heart of the Epoch is five connected spherical rooms, housing its Chrononautical Engine and the necessary batteries of energy to go where-ever the ship's captain wants to go. The further in time an Epoch wants to go, the more energy is required, and so ships that range further afield are larger by necessity to house additional batteries.   Besides that, the appearance of an modern (so to speak) Epoch is at the whim of its captain and crew. The favorites are triangles, UFO squares, or spherical shapes; they don't need to be aerodynamic, only able to settle on land. Some captains (Captain Andromech: like me!) settle on more fantastical and whimsical Epochs, like flying air-craft carriers, old oak and brass like a sea-faring vessel of old, and the most outlandish of science-fiction depictions.

Compartments

Chrononauts travel to all kinds of places and do all kinds of things, so they must be ready for everything. These are the most common compartments found on Epoch's.

Medical

Medical compartments have emergency and trauma beds for any injuries earned in the field. From first aid to stasis beds to pause the most grevious injuries for when they can return to Chronotopia, it helps keep adventurers in tip-top shape as they traverse the multi-time-verse.

Vault

The reason for travel: the Vault is the storage department of the Epoch, where they store all their ill or well gotten gains until they return. Some Epochs have what's colloquially called a Zoo Vault, more fitted for bringing back animals or monsters.

Bridge

From the Bridge, the captain sets course, monitors timeline states, and commands their craft. It's where the crew spends most of their time when they aren't off-duty.

Trophy Room

Every good captain has their favorite selection of trophies from across time, and it's only good sense to prepare a department to display the best of them. When Chrononauts meet each other in the fields, it's common courtesy to exchange trophies and generally show off.

Living World

The rest of the Epoch are dedicated to making the lives of the crew comfortable and pleasant. Living quarters, kitchens, libraries, recreational areas, Chron-casts, and whatever else the vessel's crew might want.   Besides that, individual captains add additional departments according to whim or expedition needs. Since the early days of Chronotopia, the Epoch has evolved from simple, bulky things to individual, wondrous works of art and glory.

Chrononauts

Explorers of time and alternatives, Chrononauts range the ocean of time and ever-winding streams of timelines to for no reason beyond the joy of exploration. They are the adventurers of Chronotopia, the dashing swashbucklers, the heroes - and so, frequently the subject of gossip, fandoms, and various streams so citizens can view their adventures.   Beyond the glamour, Chrononauts also find things and people for Chronotopia. Early Chrononauts were mostly busy with bringing resources to Chronotopia at the early days of the City of Time, then in trophies from various points in time to make it wondrous. The Epoch ships of those time were massive, bulky things, more concerned with mass transport than fancy.
