Aleph
The Aleph, also known as "The Ancients" or "Aasimar" are the oldest mortal race in the world of Azos, being close in appearance to angels. They were the people of the land of Aurelis before being cast out by Zenith for an undisclosed great sin. Now, very few Aleph are left in Azos, and live among the other races of the world in secret, lest their heritage be discovered.

History
According to legend, the Aleph were created by Zenith in their own image, and were their favourite children. The Aleph were then granted their own land in the form of the continent that would later be known as Aurelis after the prophet of Zenithism, for which they lived on peacefully for hundreds of years as a Kingdom under Zenith and the teachings of the Great Prophet.
However, the Aleph would be culled, with the survivors driven from Aurelis by the wrath of Zenith manifested as the Cataclysm at the very end of the Mythic Age. This forced them to seek new lands to the north, where they would be replaced as Zenith's chosen children by other beings such as elves, dwarves, halflings, orcs, gnomes and humans.
Common Myths and Legends
The Aleph were supposedly created from the finest stars in the night sky by Zenith, and chosen to be the people to inherit Azos. However, due to an unspecified great sin, most were killed with the few survivors fleeing to newer lands.
