Delta King
The Delta King is the King of the Kingdom of Deltora. But it isn't a normal monarchy. The Kingdom of Deltora still practices a dwarvenlike religion. The people of the region responded well to dwarven invasion and were given certain rights that most Alberonians were not. As a result, they were seamlessly integrated into the Holy Dwarven Empire when it controlled Alberon, given a new clan Delta Clan, which consisted of the people in the region and some dwarves who volunteered to leave their clans to join this one and show it the ropes. The current Delta King is actually a Gnome who went through lebensweg and became a Kleru. During the dwarven occupation, he challenged the former Uberkleru of the Delta Clan to a death challenge, and won shocking everyone and granting him rulership of the Clan.
In modern-day Deltora, the King acts as the secular and religious head of the country. He rules the nation and settles religious disputes. Another way he differs from a normal king is that he doesn't lead the army. He has a First Warrior for that, kleru are forbidden to touch weapons except a staff, whip, and ceremonial dagger. The First Warrior serves at the pleasure of the Delta King.
