Guild Hall

Guild Offices

The Guild Hall houses the offices of many of the guilds in the Glorious Kingdom of Eglen. Among others the Guild of Boiler makers have their offices in the hall, as well as the Engine building Guild.

Emperial History

The Guild Hall, located in Ivoryhall, used to be a small villa of the Emperial family, for emperial standards, for Ivoryhall city it is a big building. Somewhere between the fall of the empire and the creation of the Glorious Kingdom, it became the Guild Hall. The Duke of Skop already had the Ivory Hall, and couldn't afford the villa, also those days were a dangerous time with a lot of fighting, thieving and general bad stuff, and the villa was a structure which was nearly impossible to defend.

Design & Use

The Guild Hall is a square building and has streets all around it, multiple entrances along all sides, leading to a covered courtyard. On the lower (ground) level, there are smaller rooms for meetings. Aswell as kitchens, small workshops, and places where travellers can sleep. The second and third floors, accessable by a balcony round walk inside the villa, looking out over the courtyard, have all the offices. The fourth floor, under the roof, houses the guild's library. Which has the second largest collection in the Glorious Kingdom of Eglen after the Royal University of Ivoryhall.

Market & Courtyard roof

Every second and sixth day of the week, a market is organised on the courtyard. Originally the courtyard wouldn't have been covered, but the guilds erected a glass roof covering the whole square, slightly domed. Which makes the courtyard a very pleasant place to be. Even in the permanently smog covered lands of Eglen.

Train tunnel under the city

The tunnel that is being constructed to drive a fast steam train from Ivorhall Castle to the Royal University of Ivoryhall will also pass the Guild Hall. Currently the minors are digging down in the basement to create the station.
