Wayward

A Wayward is a member of The Wayward minority group in the Theocracy of the Ancient Ways. Anyone who is not a Javeii of the Ancient Ways either because they refuse to recognize and follow The Ancient Ways or because they are not Javeii are automatically considered to be part of this group and, in fact, registered as such. In a more general, informal way "Waywards" is used as a term for anyone living outside the rule of The Theocracy as well.

Despite being the 'heretics' from the perspective of the Javeii of the Ancient Ways, the Wayward are treated respectfully and they even receive support from those following the religious principles as they pity those who are not granted the guidance, safety and benefits from the Ancient Ways. In that regard this title does hold actual value; it indicates that the person bearing this title is in need of help towards enlightenment. It is believed to be a virtue to guide a Wayward (back) to The Way.
