Stasis Chests

A box (usually) with a lid that contains a spell that freezes time on objects placed inside.

Obviously, making them is not nearly so simple, and they need some of the materials replaced to retain usefulness after a period of time (depends on make and the caster), but they provide all sorts of functions.

They tend to be small, because the spell gets unstable in larger spaces. It has to be contained within a container (ha) that can be opened and closed, it does not need a set size or shape, but it works better with one.

Failures in the things are usually simply stuff that isn't frozen in time, and you've basically been storing whatever in a basket. If this was an ice cube, it melts, if it was a clock, it continues ticking, if it was a rock, it's still a rock.

Of course, this being magic, a stasis box gone wrong will also lose your stuff into the aether where time goes,
