Leylines

Leylines are the intricate webbings that magic uses to interact with the world. As magic is, more or less, an ambient energy that exists neutrally amongst the rest of the world, and the things in it interact as they can, it takes shape like sand reflecting soundwaves on a speaker-- the frequency at which it exists will dictate the ebb and flow around its natural lines where they rest on the planet.

Divine Leylines are flexible and dictated by population drivers and worship, but also by the other magics, which are more stagnant. Divine leylines are more like a river that changes course, developing new branches and leaving behind old dry spots.

The Psionic magic has left pocks and bubbles in the rest that fuck with the use of it. The runes tracing it are often circles or bubbles, but are rarely effective at all.

Primordial magic has the strongest leylines, both in its steady frequency and in using them via replication--you can carve a Primordial Rune into just about anything and get a result. They are incredibly simple, as it is a very basic magic, however. The runes and leylines are often curved and curled.

Warping Magic is also powerfully attuned to leylines and therefore traced or copied runes, but the flux tends to leave the runes inconsistent. Its runes tend to be curved with points, occasionally featuring things like jagged angles.
