Construct: Introductory Guide
This article is maintained by the Support Watchers' Research and Development Bashi in partnership with the Central Artificers Bashi.
As part of the immigration process (timeline), we will assess whether you need additional medical or accessibility support to live within an Exclusion Zone. We do this in several rounds, as often you'll find you need things that aren't obvious at first. The primary step will be to assess basic needs like mobility and daily living assistance. If you have issues with walking or moving around we have a range of options, but the most commonly used is a construct. Constructs are available in two forms: bespoke, designed for those who need them either all or some of the time, and generic, which can be found in Watcher lockboxes around the Exclusion Zone. Should you require a construct but not have your own, your Support Watcher can access one from the nearest lockbox.
A construct is a multi-legged personal transportation device. They commonly have between four and eight legs, which can be customised to individuals. If you need a construct yourself as a basic mobility support, one will be designed for you once you have completed the final stage of immigration and are ready to begin integration. They are powered by a combination of ambient fundamental forces and those generated by and held in your own body. You can control and manage the construct's basic features via a connection to your own motor cortex. As such, it can take a while to adapt and training will be provided. For those who need a construct but don't have that access, Artificers have developed constructs that work with the individual's Support Watcher to ensure they can get around safely.
