Banyan Tree System
Each Exclusion Zone has at its heart a gigantic Banyan Tree. Its accessory trunks, roots, and branches stretch overground and underground throughout the zone, with its starting point close to the Reality Tear: Gap and Line. The Trees were planted by High Ashad Isha when each zone was first established and they are maintained by Sifradan, Zurasim and, most importantly, Arborists and Botanists. They feed off the unstable fundamental forces of reality and are essential to maintaining the stability of not only the zone, but the world and reality itself. The Tree System also provides the deep storage for each Exclusion Zone's Data Matrix.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Great Tree is a stranger fig, an epiphyte planted by High Ashad Isha in a tree close to the point where reality first tore open. The first banyan tree was planted in Amin Duum Holy Complex from a seed brought by members of The Five Thousand as a gift to Isha for her protection. The banyan proved to be exceptionally good at absorbing dangerous fundamental forces unleashed and destabilised by the reality tears. This caused them to grow exceptionally fast and large, eventually encompassing the full reach of each zone and allowing the establishment of safety barriers preventing unstable forces from spreading further.
Each Exclusion Zone has only one Tree, but owing to the extensive growth of prop roots and branches out from the seed point and host trunk, all the Zones have many imitation forests and groves. Communities beyond each zone's Holy Complex tend to concentrate around such forests, such as Faras Gül and the At-Alesh: The First Temple of Isha in Amin Duum Exclusion Zone.
Dietary Needs and Habits
The Tree thrives on the unstable fundamental forces released when the Reality Tear: Gaps open. This compensates for the lack of sunlight for the large sections of the Tree that are underground. Leaves have adapted to absorb fundamental forces instead, glowing when they do.
