New Years Resolution 2026

Another year, another Worldember for the books. It was nice to take a little break from my main setting and focus on something new this year, it's definitely helped me to refresh my creative spark and explore some new ideas I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. Beyond that, I got a chance to see some amazing articles from the community, and seeing some of these imaginative submissions has been a fantastic inspiration for my own writings, both worldbuilding and otherwise. In no particular order, here's a few articles I found particularly interesting:

• A to Z of Colourful Critters by Mochimanoban: While most posts for the Species prompt cover a single creature, I find this posts decision to act as a sort of directory for multiple species to be an interesting break from the mold. Given that this article is still a WIP, I'm quite interested in seeing what other fascinating creatures will be added to the list.
• Folded Spaces by Amelieis: While the "Bag of Holding" type item is pretty much a staple of most fiction these days, it was fascinating to read about the mechanics behind this items function, as well as the impact it's had on the world at large. The styling was nice to look at too!
• Refuge Systems Defense Force by RPGDinosaurBob: Focusing on a smaller unit that excelled at its particular niche was a nice change of pace from larger armed forces.
• Nemethra by Make lore, not war: This eldritch city proved to be an immensely fascinating read from start to finish!
• Boulder Cliff Mountains by SiobhantheWriter: I enjoyed the in-depth look at the flora and resources found within these mountains, and it's inspired me to work on expanding this element of my own settings geography.
