Thank you for choosing the Wishing Star Express! I am Charlie Hatter, and I would like to welcome you to our wonderful world! I understand if you might be a little disoriented; it's not every day you travel through hyperspace. Have no worries. Me and the other sponsors are more than happy to clear the air.
Upon Arrival
When you step off the train, you may feel a little disoriented, perhaps even a little sick. Do not worry; Portal Sickness is a normal response to this kind of temporal distortion. Just get enough rest and fluids, and you should be fine. Personally, I recommend you swing by the Hatter Factory and get some of our famous tea for the latter! Heh heh!
Getting Around
Our glorious world is not much unlike your own. Though magic and monsters rule the land, we all try our best to get along and make peace with one another. Before settling down in Altairus, there are a few things you should know about ourselves and our world:
- Time here flows much more slowly than it does on your homeworld. What is a few days here may be a few weeks or even months back on Earth. Keep this in mind when planning your stay.
- Our magic may have unusual effects on beings such as yourselves. While most of our cuisine is safe for non-magical creatures, you may end up Bonding to Altairus if you consume too much. Then, you might not be able to get back home!
- Though we have decided to open the portals again, The War of the Wendigoes was still only a scant decade ago. Most everybody in Altairus can fight. So think twice before starting any trouble.
- Your cell company definitely does not cover your connection here. You will not be able to access your cellular services or the internet on your phone except in special locations. Look for the radio wave symbol!
A Primer on Anima
Anima is the force behind all life on Altairus. Without it, none of us would exist!
Anima can be split into six elements. Clockwise from the top of the Anima Sigil, these are Air, Water, Darkness, Earth, Fire, and Light. During the summer months, Air, Fire, and Light are stronger, and during the winter, Earth, Water, and Darkness have their time to shine!
When all of the elements come together, they create Undifferentiated Anima. This special kind of magic heals everything it touches and is our best defense against the evil that is Null Magic and its demonic servants, the Wendigoes.
The Wendigo Banishing Incantation
The Wendigo Banishing Incantation is the best spell to use against wendigoes. There is no downside to using it, so if you are ever encountered with a wendigo, you are encouraged to use it. The incantation is below:

If you ever encounter a wendigo that cannot be banished right away, please step back and let experienced wendigo hunters handle the situation. They are stationed all throughout the land. We cannot be held responsible for harm incurred from engaging with powerful wendigoes directly.
Your Guide To Silverneedle Town
Silverneedle Town is, in my humble opinion, the best place in all of Altairus!
Obviously, the main attraction here is the Hatter Factory. Here is where my company, Hatter Co., produces all the special blends that give this town its name. If you have the funds, particularly check out our newest creation, Blood Wood Black! It's a black tea made special from the vampiric trees of the Blood Wood. The grove has a sordid history, but its tea is utterly delicious!
And if you manage to meet me in person, I might even invite you to my favorite spot for a tea party, Teatime Grove! Idyllic, picturesque, and best of all, it's time-frozen, so you can stay as long as you like!
