Ashteia

Ashteia is a group of asteroids purchased by the Indaran Relief Society and the Atashian Diaspora after they were displaced by the Oqor Syndicate. These asteroids were turned into a self-sustaining city-state in space, connected by a network of pressurized transit tubes, which allow for safe and easy travel between them. These tubes are equipped with maglev trains that enable fast and efficient movement of people and goods. Ashteia is located at a core part of a trade route which heads to Indara, making it a great location for merchants to stop and rest.

Creation

After the Pillage of Atash, surviving Atashians on Indara coordinated with the Indaran Relief Society. They gave whatever remained of their wealth to amass enough capital to purchase and terraform the asteroids. These mineral-rich asteroids were hollowed out and turned into seperate refugee camps. However as the camps grew, needs increased as more people wanted a better quality of life, which sparked the beginning of massive construction and infrastructure projects almost entirely funded by the IRS and Atashian refugees. One project included transit tubes with maglev trains connecting the asteroids, which instantly sparked an economic revolution. After the construction of the transit tubes, Ashteia became a city-state with its own democratic elections, as a highly autonomous region of the Fa-Seh Federation on Indara, which helped fund its construction.

Welcoming Refugees

Important parts of Ashteia's main governing ethics are xenophilia and being open to all refugees. The city-state's autonomous government, supported by the Indaran Relief Society ensures that all citizens and refugees receive equal opportunities and support. Educational programs, vocational training, and healthcare are provided all citizens and refugees. Cultural exchange is promoted to help foster acceptance among residents.
