The Main Dining Room
The primary meeting space: long table seating thirty, the families’ assigned positions by seniority of land tenure, Marcus Falco Agrestis’s position at the table’s head when he attends. The discussions that happen here before the exchange session are the pre-negotiation that determines the range within which the public session operates. The room has no windows on the street-facing side — a feature of the original fourth-century design that the families have maintained through every subsequent renovation. The street cannot hear the room.
