Feathered-Pine Sap
The Feathered Pine is a common tree that resides in the Griffon Guard's territory of Eerifrium. It is commonly known to be a tall, thick pine with branches that look as if they were large feathers of a bird, due to the amount and pattern of the needles. Though it is used often to build stable buildings, the Feathered Pine is most known for its sap, which is a extremely sticky residue.
Feathered-Pine Sap can be found all over in shops due to its quick production and distribution with help from the Griffon Guard. The sap is great for building as weather doesn't effect it much. Settlements in Zachtburg have used the sap to keep buildings together during fierce blizzards of high winds. The Orcs of Verdain have been able to keep old houses placed in the humid Swamps and Marshes together for years. And many of the early Airship designs used Feathered-Pine Sap to keep the boards and pillars in place. There has been few cases where the sap has melted or frozen up to a point of shatter, it stays in its sappy, thick form.
Though this material is very useful, it is very hard to work with, even with magic. Because of the sap's extremely stick nature, it is a great struggle to get it off of clothes, skin, and tools. With this known, some have started to produce specific tools to make it less of a deal to work with the sap, some of these tools include small shovels, specific spoons, scythe like blades of metal, and the Griffon Guard have made a glove with a scrapable surface to help scoop and place the sap. Even with the tools, it doesn't make the sap like butter. Its more like trying to lift a small boulder by yourself, except your trying to spread sap across bricks or wood, not lifting a boulder.
With that said, many endure as the sap is a cheap buy that improves life especially in harsh climate. Just make sure if you drop some you don't step in some, your not getting that shoe back if you do.
