The Pillars
The Pillars is the lair of the 2nd guardian, a vast cavernous space standing in stark contrast to the claustrophobic home of the previous guardian.
Far less friendly than the last this one is literally coming right for you.
Design
The perimeter of the room is a jagged natural outline of the space. a few hundred feet across. The sharp craggy ceiling like the upper teeth of a gargantuan monster looms a solid fifty plus feet overhead.
Bridging the chasm between the two main entry passages are a series of concentric circles of pillars, narrow around the outside getting larger as you move in towards the center with a large platform in the center. A five foot gap separates you from the outer most ring, with each pillar in that ring spaced five feet apart. a five foot leap inwards leads to a ring of pillars roughly ten feet across with ten foot spacing, a ten foot leap in from there lands you on pillars roughly fifteen feet across and spaced fifteen feet apart a final fifteen foot leap to the center places you on a platform twenty feet across.
Entries
the tunnel you enter from has you standing on a wide but shallow area as about fifteen feet in front of you is a sharp cliff dropping off into a pitch black chasm with a bottom far far below. A matching area sits on the opposite side of the room though in the darkness you may not see it right away.
Sensory & Appearance
Every sound echoes out across the empty darkness, even with crystals scattered about the room is too vast for them to give much aid in seeing. The stiff crosswind of this room seems to be the source of the breeze flowing through the other tunnels and rooms you've been in so far.
Contents & Furnishings
The space itself is empty
Hazards & Traps
Falling off a pillar is a one way trip to a cavern floor of unknown distance below. Dropping a stone and waiting for the sound of it hitting bottom does not instill a lot of confidence in the survivability of a fall
Special Properties
This room is a lair, it provides the guardian who occupies it with special abilities to aid in its efforts
Architecture
The surrounding architecture matches the level of the complex this lair is found on rough rock, loose earth, very cavern like with stalagmites and stalactites. Crystals glow with dim light to illuminate the tunnels and rooms of the level.
This room being so substantial in size the crystals do next to nothing to light the room on their own .

Environmental Effects
It's dark, dank, and ominous, even a denizen of the underdark would find this cavern unsettling as the craggy ceiling looms ominously high above you.
the room is chilly like you'd expect in an underground area. When you crossed the threshold and the terrain turned rocky this is the kind of room you were expecting to encounter.
