The Pen

The third and final Guardian's lair on the top level of the complex. You've dealt with traps, with puzzles, hopefully resolved the first mechanism of the Repository door, and survived two guardians. Now you must prove yourself worthy of descent against a cunning foe.

Design

The room is roughly sixty by sixty with a twenty foot ceiling. Off in one corner is what looks like a mud hut big enough for a large creature a dichotomy of architecture as it appears rather sophisticated and well lit inside despite being made entirely of the filthy mud that surrounds you on all sides.   The mud cascades down the walls a seemingly endless supply and yet the room itself does not fill, it has to be draining off somewhere whether magically or physically is unclear.

Entries

the tunnel leading into this room grows moist, a layer of dew on the walls and ground makes the stone slick, moisture drips from the ceiling, this gives way to ever deepening mud as you enter the room in mud a couple feet deep.   The other side of the room has a climb up out of the mud to an apparent exit a couple feet up on the far wall next to the hut

Sensory & Appearance

It's just more than a bit gross, trudging through deep watery mud those slurp splooch suction sounds as it tries to eat your boot with every step and god forbid you fall over into this slop, you may never get yourself clean. You can just slightly taste the dirt mixed into the moist air.

Hazards & Traps

The deep mud makes the whole room difficult terrain as you try to trudge through to the other side. If you get knocked prone it take all of your movement to stand up instead of half.

Special Properties

This room is a lair, it provides the guardian who occupies it with special abilities to aid in its efforts

Architecture

The surrounding architecture matches the level of the complex this lair is found on rough rock, loose earth, very cavern like with stalagmites and stalactites. Crystals glow with dim light to illuminate the tunnels and rooms of the level.

Environmental Effects
It's dark, and dank to the nth degree. The moisture in the air is nearly tangible as you try to breathe in here. Trudging through the deep mud saps you of energy. the room is chilly like you'd expect in an underground area.
