A little rough around the edges - not too surprising, considering she's a part of the convict rehabilitation programme - but there are glimpses of potential brewing beneath the surface. When she engages with the training, she scores well above the rest. We just have to find a way to keep her engaged.

— Captain Kitazawa - CF Personnel Review

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

At 6’7”, Larissa is on the lower side of the average height bracket for a Tau-Terran. Overall she is quite lithe. There is some muscle definition from regular exercise and physical activity.

She has an oblong face with high cheekbones, soft but still prominent. Her nose is long and thin, her eyebrows are full and a darker shade of red than her hair, to the point that they appear more brownish.

She has a Cerberus Ravager tattoo down the right side of her abdomen (above the obliques) which she got when she was 18. For the Zieglers, getting this tattoo tends to be a bit of a family tradition.

Physical quirks

Her dominant hand is her right hand.

If years of attending high society parties has taught her anything, it is that a great posture will get her parents off of her back for most of the evening. Because of this, Larissa does her best to maintain her posture to the point of perfection, so much so that others tend to notice it and sometimes even point it out.

There are a lot of things Larissa would rather be doing right now. Hanging around with her friends, sneaking into a club, drinking until the sun rises. You know, typical rebellious teenager things. Instead she’s being forced to play dress up for a bunch of snobs - which is a rare insult from her, considering she’s a member of the snobs - who care less about Larissa and more about the Zieglers.

Most of the snobs here make her squirm. Being around them fills the pit of her stomach with dread because they’re all looking for every little thing they can exploit and trying to hide it behind wolfish grins. Larissa doesn’t even realise she’s raised her hand to toy with a stray lock of hair until something grabs her wrist, almost tight enough to bruise.

“Stop that,” her mother, Leonore Ziegler, berates, all bite hidden behind a lush smile.

“But–”

Larissa,” Leonore hisses. Threat clear. It’s a tone she only ever takes in private, when Larissa has done something particularly stupid or reckless. The fact that she barely even glances Larissa’s way as she speaks, too focused on the man infront of her droning on about some recent political event, only makes that pooling dread worse.

Her default stance, whether she’s bored or relaxed, is to have her arms folded across her chest. If she can find something to lean against, she will. When it comes to Larissa being angry or upset, she'll place her hands in her pockets and her shoulders hunch, which is very noticeable considering her typically good posture. When she is anxious or worried, she’ll subconsciously start to tuck strands of hair behind her ears.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Born to Leonore Ziegler and Cyrus Ziegler at the Yilyaun Health Centre in Golden Falls. Due to some complications surrounding her birth, her mother Leonore was rendered unable to conceive another child, so Larissa would spend her life as an only child. Being the only child of the Ziegler's matriarch meant that Larissa was the sole heir to the Ziegler fortune; a blessing that quickly deteriorated into a burden as she grew older.

Larissa's status meant that throughout her childhood, other parents would force their children to try and befriend her in the hopes that they could get on the good side of Larissa’s parents. Into her teenage years, this became more and more apparent, especially when the other children started to adopt their parents’ approaches. As a result, Larissa was only really friends with the other ‘rich kids’ that lived nearby. Though she wouldn’t take to calling many of them ‘close’ or ‘best’ friends.

Education

In compliance with Terran Education Standards, Larissa has the following:

    • Foundation Grade (L5) Certificate of Completion
    • Lower Secondary Certificate of Completion - Grade A.8
    • Higher Secondary Certificate of Completion - Grade B.9
    • Advanced Grade (Distinction 2) Certificate of Completion

As well as the above, she also has two Universal Degrees, awarded by the Osiron Educational Collective. The first is a Degree of Medicinal Studies (Theoretical) and the second is a Degree of Medicinal Physiology and Anatomy (Practical). Both of her Universal Degrees were graded COMP.

As per the requirements of the Cerberus Fleet, she has also undergone basic training in weaponry, engineering, emergency medical care, piloting skills, and CF tactics.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Relationships have always been a bit of a mixed bag for Larissa. From friends, to lovers, and everything in between, she always struggles with a niggling doubt in the back of her mind that anyone trying to get close to her is just doing so because she is a Ziegler. It means that she quite often finds herself pushing others away.

Sasha Moroz

Larissa and Sasha met at the Fallinwright Private Academy as children and have been friends ever since. They have had their rough patches that stemmed from silly little arguments, but there has never been any serious anger between them, so they have always worked it out in the end. Larissa thinks those little spats have made their friendship stronger.

She also thinks that she has been putting in far more work into the friendship than Sasha has of late, but that might also be her jealousy talking. Sasha has a habit of flitting back and forth between dating Larissa and dating Monty Wickham, so it is always hard for Larissa when she is the one left alone, having to watch Sasha cosy up to Monty.

Somewhere in the back of her mind, Larissa knows she deserves better. But then she also knows that she will always have a soft spot for her best friend - she’s hoping that she'll find some kind of middle ground eventually.

Rissa, babe, bestie - I don’t know why you’re not picking up right now, but please, please, please answer my calls? I… shit, Rissa, something really, really bad has happened. I don’t know what to do. You were the only person I could think of, that I could trust, because Monty’s sweet but he’s an idiot, and I need…

I need my best friend. Please Rissa. I’m really fucking scared right now…

Monty, Basim, and Ciaran

The package deal that completes Larissa and Sasha’s circle of friends. She met Monty Wickham at Fallinwright Private Academy, and later met Basim Nadwi and Ciaran Tully whilst attending Venatauri Private Academy.

Larissa would say she only tolerates Monty because of Sasha, but deep down she knows that isn’t true. They have been friends for just as long and, although they have never quite seen eye to eye, they enjoy a (mostly) friendly rivalry with one another.

Of the boys, Larissa is closest to Basim. They share some sporting interests and are both big fans of the Yilyaun Lions - the Golden Falls star football team. There have been many occasions where Larissa and Basim have attended a game together without the rest of the group. That tends to stir up some rumours about the two of them dating which they always get a laugh out of because Basim has no interest in dating women.

Ciaran is the guy that Larissa talks to the least out of the group, but he has always been more of Monty’s tag along friend anyway. Larissa is cordial with him and has on occasion spent time with just him, she just doesn’t think they have too much in common. If anything, on the rare occasions when she does seek his company, it's because it gives her a bit of peace and quiet from the chaos that is Monty and Basim (and Sasha too). Larissa thinks he tends to do the same.

Delilah Corbeck

Initially, Larissa didn’t see Delilah as anything more than another annoying private who joined the Cerberus Fleet so that they could explore the unknown. Her opinion on Delilah quickly changed to annoying and nosy when Delilah discovered that Larissa was providing Captain Arinobu Kitazawa with information on the Ravagers.

Not the best of starts for a friendship. But somehow, inbetween the bickering, the two developed a pretty strong relationship.

Larissa just can’t help but feel drawn to Delilah. She thinks it’s because of Delilah’s genuine kind heart and good nature, something that is extremely rare within the circles Larissa usually socialises with. Once Delilah eventually gets Larissa to trust her and open up, the two often share stories of their childhoods, which brings up no end of questions and some envious comments regarding their vastly different upbringings.

Delilah Corbeck
Character | Jan 8, 2025

Faolán McKeogh

Whilst the two weren’t close until Delilah Corbeck came into the picture, Larissa was aware of the bullying Faolán faced aboard the Stargazer and would interfere whenever there was an opportunity to do so. Never when it was obvious - she couldn’t risk her position in the Ravagers or aboard the Stargazer after all - which meant that Faolán was always wary of her even when she was trying to help.

After Delilah came into the picture, they had more opportunities to talk with one another. As it turned out, they shared more interests than either had realised, so their friendship quickly turned from something that felt a little forced to a deeper connection.

Larissa always makes sure that Faolán knows his worth now. Especially when it comes to his piloting skills, offering both praise and feedback, which he appreciates a little bit more than Delilah’s non-stop, over the top praise.

Faolán McKeogh
Character | Apr 12, 2024

They are both waiting in Larissa’s cabin when Delilah returns.

Larissa’s half asleep, not even aware that she had been nodding off until the mechanical hiss of the door has her jolting upright, eyes wide. Faolán is already standing, striding, half-way across the room by the time the door fully opens.

He practically leaps into Delilah’s arms. Larissa tries to follow, but something holds her frozen in place on the bed. She watches them as the emotion builds in her chest. It grows with every thud of her heart, a rhythm rapidly quickening, because both she and Faolán have waited for far too long Delilah to return. To know she is safe. All that fear and anxiety fading away, making space for a relief that makes Larissa feel weightless.

At one point, Delilah looks up, arms still wrapped around Faolán as he sobs against her shoulder. Larissa meets her gaze. They don’t move. Neither of them need to - besides, Larissa thinks it is better for Faolán this way, because he had let his worry consume him far more than Larissa had. Let him have his moment. Let him get those feelings out of the way.

Larissa waits and smiles at Delilah from her spot on the bed instead. It carries an understanding that Larissa feels in her soul, one that she hopes Delilah feels too. No words, or amount of hugging, could portray just how terrified Larissa had been over Delilah’s injury, and she latches on to the justification that she still has some kind of aloof and uninterested reputation to maintain. Luckily, Delilah catches onto the meaning and smiles back.

Lillian Horner

As an unexpected friend during some darker times in Larissa’s life, she feels a little bit indebted to Lillian. Sometimes, she wonders if Lillian knows just how much she has done for Larissa, and how much Larissa owes her in return. Whether the growing debt and the opportunity to cash in is the reason she lets Larissa come back as often as she does.

Lillian proves those thoughts wrong time and time again. Before they met, Larissa never really thought a criminal could be so genuine - then again, maybe Lillian is afforded the luxury because she has the money to back up her reputation.

Still, Larissa knows better than anyone how money can change a person. She doesn’t think Lillian has ever changed, though. From what (admittedly little) she knows of the woman, she imagines that a younger Lillian was very much the same charming, self-assured person that Lillian is now. Larissa really admires that about her.

And sure, maybe those feelings of friendship stray into the romantic sometimes, but can you really blame Larissa for that? Everyone falls for the Queen eventually.

Notable Colleagues

Larissa wouldn’t claim to be close to any of her ‘colleagues’ in the Cerberus Fleet - with the exception of Delilah Corbeck and Faolán McKeogh. But there are a few that stand out to her the most, for various reasons.

Arinobu Kitazawa

Her captain and handler.

Larissa has a great deal of respect for Arinobu. She considers him to be an honest man and a great leader, always fair with punishments and providing ample praise where the situation calls for.

If anything, she wonders if him going against the grain when it comes to Fleet politics has unfairly cost him the chance to rise through the ranks - unfortunate, really, because in her eyes there is no way Major Lawrence Aarons deserves his position over Arinobu.

Perhaps ironically, Larissa thinks he could stand to be a little harsher with her. The man clearly has too much respect for her mother, or the Ziegler family name, because she still gets away with a lot more than others in the crew would.

Arinobu Kitazawa
Character | Jan 5, 2025

Farai Pretorious

A certified hardass and the bane of Larissa’s existence. Where Arinobu Kitazawa plays the classic ‘good cop’, Farai serves as the ‘bad cop’.

Larissa has rarely ever been told no, other than by her parents, so to have someone else suddenly denying her requests or preventing her from doing what she wants is a strange dynamic. It means that when she is in trouble, it’s usually Farai dealing with her.

Of course, it’s entirely different from her parents. Farai is harsh, but still fair, and blunt with her honesty. That’s what Larissa likes about her, deep down. The no-nonsense, cut through the bullshit, absolute distaste for playing politics.

To Farai, Larissa is just another member of the crew and Larissa wouldn’t want it any other way.

Farai Pretorious
Character | Jan 5, 2025

Lawrence Aarons

Even if Lawrence weren’t part of the Ravagers, Larissa wouldn’t like him. She’s met hundreds of men just like him before - arrogant and selfish, he only ever does something if it serves his interests.

Which is why Larissa thinks he is so eager to have her aboard the Stargazer - what better way to gain favour with the higher ups then look after one of their wayward daughters? So of course, he’s so eager to make a good impression with both Larissa and her mother, as if Larissa might scurry home and tell her how kind Lawrence has been.

On top of that, he’s a terrible person - politically and personally. Larissa honestly doesn’t know how she refrains from being physically sick around him sometimes.

Lawrence Aarons

Family Ties

Strenuous is probably the best way to describe Larissa’s relationship with her parents. It wasn’t always that way, and her mother at least is more civil and kind than her father tends to be, but that only makes those moments of thunderous arguments cut deeper. As far as extended family is concerned, she only sees them at parties and any civility between them at such events is just a formality. Most of her extended family hates that she alone will inherit the Ziegler fortune.

It isn’t all doom and gloom though. Her cousin Roland is far enough removed from the inheritance that he doesn’t care about it, so the two of them get along like a house on fire. Larissa thinks of him like the brother she never had because of how close they are.

Leonore Ziegler

To the public, one might think that Leonore and Larissa have a perfectly normal mother-daughter relationship. Larissa tows the line of a slightly rebellious but well-mannered daughter, whilst Leonore pretends to be the middle ground between stern but fair.

The cracks only start to show when they are in private.

Larissa knows of her mother’s disappointment. She’s heard it in her mother’s voice every day since the moment she was old enough to recognise it for what it truly was. From the choices made in her personal life, to her desired career, nothing that Larissa does will ever be good enough because it is not exactly what her mother had planned for her.

Except, there are rare moments when Larissa’s mother speaks about her with nothing but a sense of pride and love. Those moments hurt the most. Because more than anything, Larissa longs to believe that those moments are real.

Leonore Ziegler
Character | Jan 5, 2025

Cyrus Ziegler

No amount of charisma can hide the animosity that Larissa has for her father, or vice versa. The only saving grace that Larissa has is the knowledge that he would never act out in public, or in a place where Leonore Ziegler might catch him, out of fear of angering Leonore.

Unfortunately for Larissa, Cyrus has gotten quite good at covering his tracks. Never bruise the face. Never hit hard enough that the pain might be visible after the fact. Never do anything that he can’t easily explain away as Larissa’s rebellious nature.

So she hides from him. Better to run then risk goading him into violence by mocking his insecurities, because Larissa knows each and everyone one of them and sometimes he makes it so easy for her to pick at them.

Elias Ziegler

Larissa sees very little of her uncle Elias, much to her dismay, because he is one of the only family members she can tolerate.

His position as head of the Hercules Initiative means there is no jealousy towards his sister, or Larissa as heiress to the Ziegler family fortune. In the past, she has sought out his company as a way of hiding from her parents. The only downside being that when Leonore comes calling, Elias dutifully sends Larissa home.

Julie Ziegler

As far as someone who married into the Ziegler family goes, Larissa thinks Julie is one of her more decent in-laws. Whilst they don’t see eye to eye on anything, there is no hate between them. Their relationship is amicable and Larissa appreciates that Julie isn’t eager to point out her flaws and mistakes at every opportunity.

The only problem Larissa has with Julie is that she seems more interested in Leonore than the Ziegler she’s actually married to. Which is downright crazy in Larissa’s opinion, because Elias is by far the kinder of the two.

Roland Ziegler

One of Larissa’s cousins and a family member she thinks of like a brother. The two were thick as thieves in their childhoods, being just a year apart in age and having similar interests. It also helped that his father, Elias, cared very little about the Ziegler family fortune, so Roland never ended up resenting Larissa for the fortune she will eventually inherit.

Their respective lives and career paths have meant that they very rarely see each other in person, but the two message each other at least once a week. In fact, he’s one of the few people that Larissa will send a message to that’s longer than a couple of sentences.

//--- Incoming transmission ---//
//--- Saved ID: Ro ---//

Hey hey hey! How’s my favourite cousin doing, huh? Too busy to message your bestest buddy from prison? Or, don’t tell me, they actually confiscated your comms. Hah! As if they’d do that to an almighty Ziegler, right?

In all seriousness though, how ya doing cuz? Everyone else has been towing the good old family line, saying that everything's a-okay, that you’re being held unfairly. And don’t get me started on your parents - they’re being cagey as hell about it.

I’m worried about ya. So just, I dunno, give me a call or something when you get the chance? Love ya

Famous Ancestors: Astrid Ziegler

Larissa is a direct descendant of the great Astrid Elisabeth Ziegler - Terra’s greatest captain and a founder of the Cerberus Fleet.

For any Ziegler, her legacy has left tough boots to fill. For Larissa, the task of living up to that legacy seems impossible. As the heiress to the Ziegler fortune, Larissa is constantly held to the standards the Astrid has allegedly set, both by her parents and the world at large. And what Astrid Ziegler represents means a lot of things to a lot of different people.

So of course, Larissa’s own feelings on Astrid are complex to say the least.

Most of the time she feels a little bit of resentment. Even though she understands that she’s directing that resentment at the wrong person - Astrid Ziegler has long since been buried, after all - sometimes it is just easier to take out her frustration on a woman who can’t talk back.

Sometimes, though, Larissa feels like she and Astrid Ziegler are more alike than people think. Larissa has access to family secrets and diaries that almost no one else is privy to, so she knows far more about what the real Astrid Ziegler was like than anybody. Even her own family, who so often like to misinterpret Astrid Ziegler’s words or actions and twist them to fit their own beliefs.

Because to the outside world, Astrid Ziegler seemed perfect. Untouchable. Yet she is perhaps the only person who would understand the pressures Larissa faces on a daily basis, and just how easy it is to crumble beneath them.

Current Occupation

Larissa currently serves with the Cerberus Fleet as a private. Her service is a condition of her participation in the TNC convict rehabilitation programme.

Nicknames
    • Ziegler (pretty much anyone who knows of her, but not on a personal level)
    • Zee (normally used as an insult)
    • Princess (varies as an insulting or affectionate nickname depending on the person)
    • Rissa (by close friends)
    • Riss (mainly by Delilah Corbeck, sometimes by Faolán McKeogh)
    • Little bird / birdie (by the one and only Queen of the Golden Falls)
Traits

Her self-assured nature doesn’t manifest in the same way as the other high strung, high society lot. For Larissa, it is a quieter, more subtle thing. On top of that she knows that people will always see her a certain way and will often use that to her advantage, falling into whatever role needs to be played.

Unfortunately, that means she tends to come off as spoiled and abrasive, but she is quite the opposite. Even though it may not seem like it, Larissa is surprisingly loyal and kind-hearted.

Catalyst Prison - An Unexpected Visitor
    Life, Crime

After an incident involving another inmate, Larissa is visited by Li’Oncorda B’Saal, an Ulmaat from the Osiryx Federation. Larissa claims not to want any special treatment and dismisses B’Saal pretty quickly. B’Saal promises they’ll be seeing each other again soon.

    “And you are?”

The Ulmaat in question clears his throat. At once, as if signalled to do so, the two guards flanking the door to the visitation room leave. In the accompanying silence, Larissa catches the triple beep on the other side of the door. Locked.

“I am Li’Oncorda B’Saal, your emissary from the Osiryx Fed–”

“Li’Oncorda, huh? Guess my parents cashed in on a couple of favours to get someone like you checking up on me.”

If Larissa’s snide comment affects B’Saal, he masks it well. No twitch or roll of the eyes. He just continues speaking in that same calm and measured tone.

“Believe it or not, Miss Ziegler, your parents aren’t the only ones interested in keeping you safe in here.”

Catalyst Prison - Discussing a Transfer
    Life, Crime

A series of altercations later, and Li’Oncorda B’Saal returns to Catalyst to visit Larissa once more. He informs Larissa of the agreement that has been made between the Osiryx Federation, the Terran Nomothetic Collective, and the Ziegler family lawyers, which means she will be transferring to Iron Sky due to her personal safety.

Larissa claims this is bullshit and, whilst B’Saal explains it is in fact reality, Larissa gets a hint of something left unsaid when B’Saal leaves the prison.

When B’Saal enters the visitation room, Larissa is hardly surprised. She had expected it sooner or later. They weren’t likely to leave the “Political Nightmare” in one of the fed’s worst prisons for too long.

“B’Saal,” she drawls in greeting as he takes a seat opposite her.

He glances down at her wrist, the one wrapped in a medical sleeve, and she hastily withdraws her hands from the table to cradle the aching limb. It forces a look that Larissa can’t quite decipher. All she knows is that when his gaze locks with her own, he looks tired, like he hasn’t slept in weeks.

“We’ll start with the good news, shall we?” he says softly. Larissa wonders if that earlier look had been one of sympathy. "You’ve been cleared for a prison transfer.”

    The Prison Transfer
    Life, Crime

Larissa is escorted out of Catalyst by Li’Oncorda B’Saal and a team of agents from the Osiryx Federation. Whilst in transit, B’Saal takes her aside and explains why the OF were so quick to agree to the transfer: a little bit of safety, a little bit of politics, and a gut feeling. When Larissa tries to question what that gut feeling is, B’Saal is evasive, claiming that she’ll understand what he means when the time is right.

“You said it was for my personal safety. Politics and all that,” Larissa says.

“Because it is,” B’Saal replies. There’s an insistence in the tone of his voice, a recommendation that Larissa drop this line of questioning, but Larissa is too stubborn to let it go.

“There’s something else though, isn’t there? Come on - we’re the only two people in the room right now, if you tell me reason number 3, no one’s going to know.”

“It’s not about other people,” B’Saal says with a sigh, “I just don’t think you’re ready to know.”

Iron Sky - A New Lawyer
    Life, Crime

Larissa has a much better time in Iron Sky. Well, until she gets an unexpected visitor in the form of a member from the Novus Justice Division - and not one she recognises.

This woman, Martha Creeley, informs Larissa of all the work that is being done outside of Iron Sky to get her released. When Larissa comments that her parents should just give it a rest, Martha quips that they aren’t the only ones interested in her freedom, but beyond that says little else. Before leaving, she promises Larissa that she’ll be back again.

The woman flicks her coin again, catching it without looking away from Larissa’s intense stare. She smiles, coy, and Larissa has a hard time restraining herself from reaching across the table to shake the words out of her.

“You’ve said an awful lot and very little, Mrs Creeley.”

“And you’ll have to forgive me for that, Miss Ziegler, but we’re in the early stages of this little gambit. There’s only so much I can say.”

“Fine.” Larissa stands so forcefully that the chair collapses backwards, the sudden crash causing one of the guards to flinch. “Then you’ll have to forgive me for not being that interested in listening. Guards - we’re done here.”

Iron Sky - The Right to Remain Silent
    Life, Crime

After numerous visits with a back and forth that annoys Larissa to no end, Martha reveals the truth: she has been sent by a secret agency, who works in partnership with a subsection of the Osiryx Federation, to ensure Larissa’s release. When Larissa questions why, Martha explains the political situation with the ‘Ravagers’, which is beginning to bubble over into trouble. The murders of those OF agents that

Larissa was convicted of were just the start. Larissa is still confused by this revelation because she isn’t a Ravager, to which Martha lets on that she and her secret agency are well aware that Larissa is only here because she’s protecting someone. Of course, without the full picture, Larissa assumes that her release is going to hinge on giving up Sasha, and promptly tells Martha where she can shove it.

“Look, Miss Ziegler,” Martha says. She reaches across the table to place a hand over Larissa’s, a gesture that should be comforting, but something about her tone of voice has Larissa on edge. “You’ve done a great job at covering it up, but you and I both know you’re not supposed to be here.”

Words keep falling from Martha’s mouth, but Larissa doesn’t hear them. Her thoughts drum too loudly for that.

It’s a parody of her mother. The same avenue of freedom dangled in front of her, give up the real culprit and be on your way, but Larissa can’t. Won’t.

She would face her mother’s ire for such defiance - already has, really - so Martha Creeley and her secret Intergalactic Investigations Bureau hardly stand a chance at dragging the truth from her.

“No deal,” Larissa says, ignoring the slight quiver in her voice and the tears burning at her eyes. It’s fury, she tells herself, not guilt or fear.

Iron Sky - Here's the Deal
    Life, Crime

After a bit of a hiatus, Martha returns. She starts by apologising to Larissa for the mix up and quickly begins to explain what her secret agency would be asking of Larissa: infiltrate the Ravagers and act as their inside woman. The reason is because this agency already suspects some high profile Terrans (aka Larissa’s mother) of being involved, so Larissa should have a surefire way into the group. Larissa isn’t convinced, but she says she will think about the offer.

Larissa flicks the coin back to Martha, who catches it with ease. “That’s why you chose me?”

“Your parents are going to get you out of this, one way or another,” Martha says, shrugging her shoulders. “The paperwork’s already in motion, has been seen the moment you were convicted. We’re merely… running with an opportunity.”

    Still, Larissa isn’t convinced.

Iron Sky - Accepting the Only Way Out
    Life, Crime

After another incident heats up the TNC and OF relations in the outside world - which Larissa only catches wind of because a friend of Lillian’s in Iron Sky has managed to get ahold of a communications device - Larissa decides to agree to Martha’s deal when Martha next visits the prison. Martha, delighted at this turn around, says it may take a little bit more time to get Larissa out of prison, but they have a plan to ‘help along’ her mother’s attempts at getting Larissa released.

“I heard about that abduction,” Larissa says as soon as the door shuts behind Martha Creeley. The woman looks surprised, but says nothing, just inclines her head a fraction as a gesture for Larissa to keep talking. “All this fighting… it isn’t what Astrid Ziegler would have wanted and it’s not what I want either.”

“So what are you going to do about it?”

At the question, Larissa looks up. Her heart beats a million times a minute, fluttering, but she swallows past the fear threatening to silence her and breathes until her heart slows.

“I’ll help you take them down.”
