Supporting Cast
  • Aldor Urnpoleshurst
A male human lawyer who hired Corran as a bodyguard on his trip with the caravan heading north from Baldur's Gate. Urnpoleshurst is relocating from Baldur’s Gate to anywhere that isn’t Baldur’s Gate. Gossip around the caravan is that he was driven out by a scandal, and that’s hard not to believe. He is suspicious of everyone and makes outrageous accusations at the drop of a hat.
  • Ardred Briferhew
A human veteran named Ardred Briferhew commands the High Road Charter Company convoy during their journey north to repair the High Road between Waterdeep and Neverwinter. The caravan consisted of six supply wagons, twelve escorts (and the characters and Jamna), and two dozen laborers marching out to relieve a group that is coming back to Waterdeep for some time off. Those cultists who weren't hired as teamsters for their three wagons are coming along as laborers.
  • Azbara Jos
Azbara Jos is a male human and a Red Wizard of Thay. Red Wizards are widely disliked and mistrusted, so he takes some pains to disguise his membership in that group by always wearing a wool cap with ear and neck flaps to cover his shaved, tattooed head.
  • Bog Luck
    Half-Orc Cultist
  • Carlon Amoffel
Harper Spy Rulers, nobles, merchants, guildmasters, and other wealthy individuals use spies to gain the upper hand in a world of cutthroat politics. A spy is trained to secretly gather information. Loyal spies would rather die than divulge information that could compromise them or their employers.
  • Escobert the Red
A stout shield dwarf with knotted, tangled bright red hair and beard. Castellan and master of the keep.
  • Frulam Mondath
One of the leaders of the dragon cult and "wearers of purple" . She was involved in the attack on Greenest and ordered the attacks on the keep by the blue dragon.
  • Gristle Pete
Grumpy human cook at the Carnath Roadhouse. Sleeps in the kitchen and kicks everyone else out at night. Complains about rats keeping him up at night.
  • Jamna Gleamsilver
    A perceptive female gnome
  • Langdedrosa Cyanwrath
A half-blue dragon who serves the Cult of the Dragon with a strict sense of honor.
  • Leosin Erlanthar
Grandmaster of the Monastery of the Safir Warid and Rahl's teacher and father figure
  • Linan Swift
Hardy human woman in her thirties and wife of Cuth Swift the miller, she's a fair shot with a bow, and recently discovered quite good with a spear as well. She'll do whatever is needed to protect her family, including taking on a pack of Kobolds on her own to let them escape.
  • Losvius
    Male Lightfoot Halfling Teamster
  • Nesim Waladra
A fellow monk from Rahl's monastery. He is arrogant and usually shirtless. He is covered with cyan colored dragonlike scales which are apparently the result of some ritual that he and Rahl did together, for which he blames Rahl for it nearly destrying and disfiguring him, though he seems to be doing better now.
  • Orvustia Esseren
A female human guard in the caravan traveling north from Baldur's Gate. Esseren grew up in the farmland outside Baldur’s Gate, and this is her first trip more than two miles away from home. She is smart, tough, and talented with both spear and bow, but she knows nothing of the world beyond her aunt’s farm or of people who deal dishonestly. Her aunt, a wise woman, believes this trip will be good for her.
  • Oscar
    Drake companion of Nettelis Miller
  • Rezmir
Half-black-dragon and one of the primary leaders of the Cult of the Dragon.
  • Stick
Kobold who is the last surviving member of his group that the party killed.
  • Talis
Young half-elf woman and childhood friend of Lorilla
  • Governor Tarbaw Nighthill
The man who runs Greenest. A human male of sixty or so years with long greying hair and a receding hairline, he nevertheless carries himself with an aura of authority.
  • Tom the Middle Manager
Member of one of the Cult of the Dragon's wagons heading from Baldur's gate to Waterdeep and apparently a cook for them.
  • Wump
The youngest stableboy at the Carnath Roadhouse. He seemed to think there was something suspicious about what was going on with the group that recently arrived at the roadhouse.
  • Xoblob
An eccentric Deep Gnome and proprietor of Old Xoblob Shop

Dragon fire threatens to consume Faerûn! Do you dare oppose the Cult of the Dragon and resist the might of Tiamat, Queen of Dragons? In the course of this adventure, you’ll face an evil alliance intent on unleashing a draconic apocalypse upon Faerûn. The Cult of the Dragon, the Red Wizards of Thay, and a conspiracy of other villains plot to reshape the world, making it ready for the coming of Tiamat. As events unfold, dragons rampage across the Sword Coast, serving at the vanguard of a legion of cultists, fiends, and worse. To oppose these forces, new heroes must rise and resist them—yet they need not do so alone. Groups like the Harpers, the Lord’s Alliance, and even the wicked Zhentarim might be rallied to oppose the Cult of the Dragon, but only if clever souls convince them to put aside their age-old rivalries. Will the people of the Realms stand and oppose the forces of dragonkind, or will they fall amid waves of dragon breath?
