A creature who eats these berries or drinks their juice becomes supernaturally afraid for 1 hour and must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw whenever they are the target of a hostile action, becoming frightened of the source for 10 minutes on a failed save. The underlying effect, and the condition, wear off early if the source of the frightened condition dies.
A handful of dark purple berries with an iridescent sheen. Shriekberries have a faintly unpleasant smell and are sometimes used for pranks, particularly those involving fey creatures. They grow on small bushes that sometimes spring up at locations that have seen evil acts.
